They resurfaced and warped to the nearest town. Once again they failed to destroy a piece of the whole fragment. No one was more down on the dumps than Issac, who sat in his room in the inn they stayed in for the whole of the day. The rest of the team however stood outside his door listening in on what might be happening in there.
"Damn.", muttered Kaos. "Still nothing."
"Issac...", said Mia worriedly. "He's probably taking all the guilt on this fiasco."
"On top of that, he's lost his memories.", said Grey. "If we progress a little farther we need him to find everything about himself."
"We can't keep trying to pressure him into instantly remembering everything!", protested Mia. "He'll be even more of a wreck than now!"
"She's right," agreed Emrys. "All we can do now is hope that something turns up. All the while, he's just gonna have to remember the hard way."
Grey sighed. Then he spoke up. "So what was going on between you and that Pandora girl?"
If Emrys was taken aback, he hid the expression very well. "Its nothing that is critical to our situation right now."
"With Issac down in the dumps, we have nothing better to do.", said Kaos. "So you might as well tell a story."
Emrys sighed then responded. "Very well. I'll tell you. A year ago, before any of this, I met her. She was surrounded by a dozen or so monsters I hadn't seen in the history of Cornelia. She was cornered and with a few of my spells, I easily eliminated them. Then she thanked me and left."
"...well you killed off about 1 minute.", said Kaos dully.
"I think I'm going to go and see how Issac's doing now.", said Mia, and she entered the door before anyone could object. Inside was a plain room with a bed, a painting of fruit, a table and two chairs beside it. Issac sat on the bed looking out the window and into the landscape beyond. "What is it?", he asked morosely. "You seem depressed... I just wanted to see if I could help you cheer up.", she said.
He sighed. "Thank you, but no thanks. I just need sometime alone."
She sat down besides him. "Is it your memories?", she asked.
"No,", he replied. "Even if I can't remembering, its still worse than whats happening now.
"You shouldn't beat up on yourself. We all couldn't do anything about the fragments."
"Yes we could. We could've destroyed them in the first place then attacked the others later.", he sighed. "Why didn't I think of that."
"Issac. We'll get nowhere if you start tormenting yourself over failures and memory loss. We'll succeed, You know it too!"
"... I need to find my memories. I don't know why but they seem important...somehow."
"we will, and I'll help you. We all will."
He smiled Genuinely. "Thanks."
She blushed but slid closer. "No problem."
Suddenly the door bursted open. Grey stood by it.
"Issac! Mia! Big trouble! Theres Fire around the capital!", he exclaimed.
"What?! My Father!!", she exclaimed.
"Then theres no time to waste, lets move!!!", Said Issac.
"Good to have you back, fearless leader!", said Kaos grinning.
