Little Red Ridinghood Remix
Once upon a time, there was an extremely royal snobby teenaged girl with an unknown name. She was very private, and never told anyone anything about her. They called her ‘Little Red Riding hood’ after the large royal red cape that hung on her back. One day through, she was scent into the woods by her mother, the queen, to deliver her grandma’s weekly foot ointment. She, every week, would tromp over a river and through the woods to her grandmother’s house. There was a particular day though, that would change her mind about her cold hearted private way of life. It had been raining that day, and Little Red was extremely tired and blank for reasons unknown. It had rained the previous day, and things were still damp. She had dressed herself in Chestnut Ug’s and her favorite jean mini skirt, with deep gray leggings to match her dark silver Juicie hoodie, and of course, her royal red cape, and sparkling diamond tiara. A Coach purse was draped over her right shoulder, and sat nicely on her left hip. The ointment had been delivered, and she was on her way home. Some parts of the path where still washed out, and she was forced to take a detour through the thick of the woods. As she walked, the path became darker and darker. She was soon blinded by the blackness of shadows. Feeling her way through the dense bracken, she came across something furry. “Who’s there?” she whispered, with a scared and timid tone. “It is I, the elk of the forest.” Came a deep, rumbling reply, “I see you’re having trouble getting out of this area, and I have come to help. No man, knight or king could rescue you from this dreadful place. I try not to come here, myself.” “You do not feel like a deer, your fur is to long and course, and your back is so low to the ground. I don’t believe you.” She scoffed, and pulled away. “I still have my winter coat, its only spring you know, and so what if I am not the tallest buck? You are not the tallest human.” He retorted, more sharply then he intended. Red stared hard at where the voice was supposedly coming from, and she swore there was a flicked of a golden eye. But she could find nothing to argue about, and so, let her hand rest on his back. As she set it there, two heartbeats raced through her fingers. She jumped a little, but remained as calm as she could. Neither was hers, one was the deer’s, but the other was a mystery. As they traveled, they became acquainted, and soon, where chatting like old friends. Red found herself stroking the back of the buck, and chatting about things her own parents, the King and Queen, didn’t know themselves. She had taken a intricate liking to the stranger, and was finding herself enchanted by his opinions about everything in general. When they told stories, about funny and embarrassing times, they would laugh together. Finally Red admitted to herself, that she had in fact fallen in love with the Elk. It had been hours and they where still in the blackened maze. “I want to go home.” Complained Little red riding hood, “All in good time, princess.” He replied, and they would fall silent. After another amount of hours, there was a distant light that glimmered, but didn’t light anything, “Here we are.” The gruff voice sounded pleased, but something about it made Red uneasy, “I’ll finish myself thank you.” She dismissed him, but he paid no mind, “That would me so unruly of me to let you finish your trip home in the dark, and what if you get lost again?” Once again, there was nothing to fight about. She held his back, and they walked together to the light. As they trudged through, Red felt the fur leave her fingertips, and she started to panic, “Oh, Mister Elk?” She called, and as her eyes adjusted, she could see a blur in front of her. As the blob became clearer, she was shocked to find it a golden eyed, gray wolf. He was handsome, standing taller then she had ever her about. His stomach was swollen, and muzzle stained with flecks of dried blood, “Surprised, princess?” He snarled, his kind voice was no longer there. “You cold hearted, self centered, two faced-!!” She couldn’t finish, and was in tears. “You tricked me!” She yelled, and stomped a booted foot on the muddy ground, “I shared my life with you, and now your, what? Going to eat me?” She spat, her hand where gripped in fists. She continued ranting for a few more minutes, before the wolf let out an amused laugh, throaty and wholehearted. “Don’t laugh at me! I’m serious!” She was a bit taken aback at how nice he looked when he chuckled, “Silly princess! Your to funny! All the other princesses just scream, and I get so annoyed I just have eat them whole! Your grandmother,” He swung his belly to indicate where she currently lay, “was the same growing up. Her sisters where the worst, so I ate them, but when I finally when to apologize to your grandmother for my terrible deed, she yelled for help, so I swallowed her. But she’s still alive, (and kicking)” he muttered more darkly, and winced, “But I just didn’t want anymore of those ranting girl, and eating you, the only child, and heir to the throne, would fix all my problems. But walking with you, there’s more then just a simple scream. You function like anything else. You live. Honestly, I was shocked at how well you cooperated. Your Great Aunts where a pain to get moving! You fallowed like a lamb to a shepherd. I admire you for that. I’m not going to eat you. I would feel to guilty.” Little Red Riding Hood was now in tears. No one had ever said anything more then ‘G’Mornin’ Princess!” to her. He knew there was more to her then a royal doll. She dropped in the mud to her knee’s and gathered the wolf in her arms, “I understand more then I expected too! You where such a gentlemen, I didn’t know you had that side!” She confessed, finding her voice, “Come with me, back to the palace! You can feast like my dad, and I’ll love you for as long as you’re here on this planet!” She carried away, pressing her face into his bushy neck, “I belong here though princess. I will walk you home, but you are to stay there, understand?” He asked, sounding like a protective father, “But I do want to see you again!” She complained, pulling away, and looking at him in the eyes. He was truthful about what he was saying. “I couldn’t bear to see you get hurt though.” He confessed. “I couldn’t bear not to see you!” She argued, “But I will listen to what you ask of me, because I trust you. Plus, you relived me of bringing things to my grandmother, so I guess this it the last time I’ll be in these woods.” Tears formed in her eyes again, “Don’t you go crying again, now lets get you home.” He growled sternly, and led her back. The entire time, she had her hand on his back, her fingers buried in the silver pelt. When they arrived at the gate, Red started to pull her fingers up off the pelt, when a watching knight yelled, “Wolf!!” And tossed a spear. There was a sickening splurt, and a thud. The wolf lay on the ground dead. “No!” Chocked the red caped princess, “No! No! Please no!” she buried her face in the cooling fur, and refused to move. “Princess-” The knight tried to calm her down, but she only turned and glared all her anger out at him, refusing to speak. Finally, the king and queen themselves had to pull her away. She cried until she was dehydrated, and had no more tears. The wolf was made into a blanket, and little red riding hood could only stroke his cold, dead back, and sob to herself quietly, living unhappy ever after. The End
