The town of Ethelain was under siege. dark armored soldiers were attacking the border guards left and right. "Finally!!! Some action after all this time of lying in wait!!!" Exclaimed Artix. He rushed out from a nearby bunker and started flailing his sword, striking down all opponents. Alouette and Tatsu were already locked in brutal combat, striking down the enemies that were surrounding them. Kaos, Mia, and Issac, assisted in defending the town: Kaos, with his dagger, was able to stab at the armored enemies with great accuracy, targeting their open skin; Mia was skilled in some healing magic, tending to the wounds of others but took any time free from healing to put arrows into the oncoming adversaries; Issac took out a huge number of enemies, releasing a wave of fire burning them to ashes, electrocuting their brains with the power of thunder. However, the efforts were fruitless, as the enemies kept coming. The Dark knight stood on the bow of the large airship looking down at the battles that took place down there. "Release the creatures." He said mirthlessly. Suddenly, two large drop ships fell once more into the city streets. All fell silent. Suddenly the dropships exploded in a fury of splinters and cracking wood.

"What the hell are those things?!" Exclaimed an ally soldier. They were horrible, foul smelling creatures, with hideous grotesque faces, that looked like something out of a horror story. They were yellow, with one arm amazingly short, and the other out of elongated out of proportion that seemed as if it were stretched like taffy. It's face was like a disfigured skull with it's eyes burned out, stretched by skin that melded with it's large body, like a failed experiment. They shrieked in pure fury, hungering for the kills. One stretched the extremely long appendage at one of the allied soldiers. Unfortunately, to everyone's horror and dismay, his head was ripped off leaving him a dead fountain of blood. Poor Mia threw up in a trash can. "What the hell?! they stretch as well?!", exclaimed a young soldier. "Bandersnatches..." said Tatsu, as he knocked out an enemy soldier. "What on earth would be so devious enough to use these forlorn creatures in their army?!"

"This won't take 5 minutes, only 2!", Artix dashed forward, sword in hand, rushed forward. He jumped dodging the extended arm of one of the bandersnatch and cut off its arm. He continued up to the ugly face of the creature. damn, he thought If I can't kill the damn thing quickly the stench will get to me! He made one swift slice-- and the creature was split in half. The second one used the delay to stretch out its arm to grab a hold of Artix. My god, such strength!!!, he thought. Issac rushed forward to help. He jumped and slapped his hand on the ground below it. Then, A plume of fire erupted from underneath it, turning it into one large smoldering, charred mass. Artix was safe. The Dark Knight overhead looked down with hatred. damn..., he thought. I should've expected the use of explosives...strange though...that that isn't the normal kind of explosion. He looked down at the young boy in the blue robes. Suddenly, he was struck with a rage he felt like none ever. Damn it!!!! there was one left!!!! HE bellowed out his anger to the skies.

Below Issac noticed the dark armored knight staring down at him with hateful eyes. Suddenly he was struck with a revelation. "Tatsu!! is there anyway to get up there?!", he exclaimed while bashing the head of an oncoming enemy with his staff.

"By Jove, I think there is!!!", Tatsu replied. "Alouette!!! assemble the pitons!!!."

"Yes sir!!!", she replied. Masterfully she took out some cord and a cannon shaped container with a hook at the end. she instantly assembled into what looked like a harpoon cannon and passed it to Tatsu who passed it to Issac.

"That Piton is what we used to scale the castle walls in our free time. It has a self activating recoil, that pulls you up! Use it wisely!!", He yelled over the sound of metals clanging.

Issac nodded and holstered his staff onto his back. Mia and Kaos ran up to him. "What do you think you're doing?!", she inquired.

"I'm gonna get on that airship and get the guy thats up there. He might have the information that we need.", he replied.

"What, do you think it's gonna be that easy?!", stated Kaos. "That thing is about 10 stories up!!!"

"Thats why I'm going to that clock tower's balcony. At that eight I'll have a good chance at getting up there.", he said pointing at the clock tower that stood in the middle of the town.

"Well...let me come then. It's my mission, too." She said.

"...fine--"

"Hey, you're not leaving me here!!! I'm coming as well!!!", exclaimed Kaos.

"for what?!" asked Issac.

"An airship that big probably has treasure beyond mortal comprehension!!!." he said drooling at the mouth. Both Issac and Mia looked at him questioningly. "Umm...and to help protect this town and stuff. you know what they say: 'take off the snake's head and the body dies.'"

"hmm...fine. let's hurry, posthaste!"

The ran towards the clock tower pounding away all the obstacles that blocked them. when they finally reached the clock tower 10 minutes later, the edge of the airship was practically right above them.

"remember! after this, there's no turning back!", Issac warned.

He aimed the piton launcher, and fired. the hook shot and pierced through the guard rails. Then the recoil activated, pulling Issac, and everyone holding onto him, onto the airship. what they hadn't expected was the Dark Knight standing there waiting for them. "Finally...my chance to wipe out the last mage remaining has arrived."

((Cue suspenseful music.))
