Chapter 6 When Kiori enter the school building she felt the vibes of humans brains, worse then ever before. As she walked along she also felt the vibes of others present: changers, and even some vampires. She wore her purple hair long and braided, her red brown eyes sparkled, only just another sign of the Aura witch. When she got to her locker she shudder, and tried to block out the vampiric mind beside her. After all she knew who Lestrants was, he was a vampire, a blood sucking fiend, yet he had still not been assigned as a target to her, or anyone else she knew. " Good morning, Kiori. " Jasimine's voice was way too chipper for Kiori's taste. " Guess what happened to Callista? " " What did you do this time, Jasmine? " She hated the witch, also a vampire hunter, but a different kind of witch. " Well, her boyfriend, Allan, isn't dating her any more, he's dating me. " " And you slept with him, creep! " Kiori pushed the witch away with her mind. " What else did you do to her? " " Well, why don't you ask Lestrants? " She walked away, in a huff. Kiori was glad that Jasmine had left, she hated her more then she hated the blood sucking leeches that she hunted. She turned to the locker door that was still open. " Lestrants." " Eric, Aura, I'm Eric. " " Fine, Eric. " The name sounded foreign on her tongue. " What did you do to her? " " Well... well. well, what do we have here? Talking with the enemy are we? " Kiori turned to the person who had spoke. She was a little surprised, he was gorgeous, but a vampire, she could fell that from his aura. " Go away, Orison. " Eric hissed. Callista walked up to the group, she smiled at Eric, how had she known when to show up? Kiori felt the aura of the third vampire before she saw who it was. When she saw who it was she tried to hide the shock from her friend. How had her best friend become one of the leeches? Was this what Jasmine had been talking about? " Hello, Eric, Kiori, and lets see you must be, Orison, welcome to Lesros High. I'm part of the welcoming committee and as such I have to show you around school, whether you like it or not. " She smiled at him. He didn't smile back, instead he frowned, a deep dark frown. Kiori could sense that he didn't want to go with Callista. She started to walk away, Callista turned to her, their eyes met briefly. - I'll tell you later, Kiori. I'm sorry. - - All right, but don't be sorry, okay. Just explain yourself later. - Of course.- Callista smiled at Eric before leaving with his cousin. One could tell they were conversing, it was just one of those things. She took Orison by the arm and led him to his class, he wasn't happy about it, but he let her do it any way. Once half way there she stopped him. " I know you don't like me, Orison, but don't do anything stupid because even though I'm one of your kind, Kiori is still my friend and will not take any crap from you. " " You think I'm scared of your friend? " " No, I think you like her. How do I know this? It's written all over your face, that and you still(though you don't want to admit it) have human emotions. " She told him, then started off in the same direction they had been going. " Well come on, don't want to be late for your first class, do you? " Reluctantly Orison followed, his class didn't have many students, only about ten, nine of them were human, the other one was a Losteran Witch, who he recognized as the girl that had been talking with Kiori earlier. " Class this is Orison Darison, he's new so please make him feel welcome. " " Welcome, Mr. Darison, please have a seat behind Allan. " When Allan turned to face the young man, Callista felt sick. To believe she had once dated this guy. - I got something you don't, vampire. - Jasmine's mocking voice made it worse. - Shut up witch, or I'll kill you later. I don't care what you two did. Should I tell him what you are? - - Doesn't matter he won't believe you. - She replied - Excuse me but I believe the class is about to start. -Orison told them both. " Will you be staying, Miss Kastilia? " "Yes, sorry. " She sat behind a brunette young lady. The class was actually very interesting, which was strange for most of the classes that Callista had to sit through were boring, then she recognized the teacher, Mr. Kirts, a shape changer, she'd caught him once too, but he had dismissed the fact. He was a man of about twenty one, dark raven hair ,with silver highlights, fell into his green eyes, speckled with gold, he was indeed a good looking teacher. What surprised Callista was the fact that he was not married, not yet. When the bell rang, he kept Jasmine, Allan, and Orison back, she stayed too. Surprised that he had kept them back. " Please be seated. " He smiled at them. " Now I don't know what's going on here, but Allan you stay out of all of it. You are treading on dangerous ground. " " Sir, what do you mean? " " Have you heard of vampire hunters? " " Just in stories. Why? " " Don't get mixed up with one, consider it a warning, you may go, Allan. " Callista let him by, but he stopped for a minute, letting his hand brush her's, she felt a chill go up her spine. - Get out of here, Allan-She watched as his face went white, like she cared if he knew what she was, he wouldn't believe her. " Now, Jasmine, stay away from him. " " Another warning, Professor? I can take care of myself. " She smiled smugly. " No a command, believe me humans and witches shouldn't be together. " " Oh, is that so? " " It isn't pretty what your kind can do to a human. " " A human, but aren't you human? " " You can't sense the shape changer aura? " Callista smirked. " No? " " I'm a changer, Jasmine, I have been. " Jasmine got up and left, if looks could kill, the way she looked at Callista would've killed her. " So why am I here? " Orison asked. " You seem to think that you are invincible, let me tell you that you aren't. That and I wanted to give you a chance to get ahead of the other students, you're a bright young man, Orison. " " Well thank you. " " I've heard' a lot about your family. " Orison nodded, and Callista smiled in the corner, then took Orison to his next class, which he had with his cousin. His third hour he had with Allan, who was avoiding her gaze at all costs, and his fourth hour he had with Kiori. For a while Callista went ridged, it was a room that was practically full of aura witches and shape changers. She recognized one as Mr. Kirts's niece, Aris, and another as one she had dated, just before she'd dated Allan, he was nice, and they still were friends. - Hey, I love what you did to your hair, who is it? - He asked, smiling mentally. - Lestrants. - She told him, she smiled herself. - Good choice, he may be a vampire, but his family is a good kind, even though they do sometimes prey on humans, they leave them living. - - Well I just keep learning about him. - She was still smiling. - His cousin is sitting behind you. - - Yeah, I thought I recognized him. Well tell Lestrants I said hi. - - Will do. - Kiori felt the vibes of all her classmates, the only person who was human was the teacher. I wonder if she knows who and what her students are. She smirked. - I'm sure she does. - Orison told her. - I don't believe I invited you to talk to me, scum. - - Ouch, harsh. - - You'd better pay attention, this class is harder then you think.- She warned and shut off the connection, blocking him out. It was difficult , even with the block, to concentrate on what the teacher we saying. It wasn't just the fact that there were other witches and changers in the room, it was also the two vampires there. One, her best friend, the other the boy who sat behind her, one that she was to be scared of, but she couldn't be, she was deathly attracted to this vampire, the leech. Yet, he didn't come off as a leech, just some one that was dangerous, in a sexy sort of way. Once the bell rang Kiori took off, it was lunch time, she was disgusted when she heard a couple talking. " What do you mean stay away from you, Jasmine, oh come on baby. " He kissed her. " P.D.A." Kiori warned. " Didn't Mr. Kirts tell you to stay away from her. " Callista told him. " Callista! " He backed away. She smiled at him, showing off her pointed teeth. His eyes widen even more, and his face went pale. - Leave her alone, she'll kill you. - She warned. Kiori had never seen Allan run so fast, she smiled, then turned to her best friend, who was smiling too. " Shall we, I'm starved. " Callista told her. " Starved? " Kiori asked. " The change isn't complete yet, I still have hunger and that. Let's go eat, before Orison shows up. " Callista took her arm and led her to the cafeteria. 8888888888888888888888888888888888888888 8888888 Eric ate quietly it wasn't normal for him to eat in the cafeteria, but he wanted to talk Callista. In fact it wasn't just a want it was a need. There were so many things he needed to tell her and if he didn't tell her soon, who knows what might happen. " Hey, Lestrants! " Eric groaned and looked up, this boy was also a vampire but one of those that shouldn't be. He was one of those bolstering idiots in life, even though vampires are one of the undead. " So Callista is your girl? " " Yeah, Troy, she is. " " And what's she doing with the other guy. " Eric didn't say anything a scream came from the other side of the cafeteria, he knew that scream all to well, he raced to where it was. " She said to stop. " She smiled and wiped her hands on her jeans. " Oh, hi. Did you come to take me to lunch or to watch the show? ' " I heard you scream. " " Oh that wasn't me, that was her. " She gestured to the young girl who was staring at her with admiration in her eyes. " The creep wouldn't leave her alone, so I dealt with him. Come on we're causing a scene. " Eric took her arm and led her away, well actually she led him away, to his car. She pushed him in and then climbed in the passenger's side. She smiled at him, but when she saw his frown, she frowned too. " Something wrong? I was joking about taking me to lunch." " No, that's alright. I hadn't eaten much anyways and felt uncomfortable, does the diner sound all right? " " Yeah sounds fine. You okay? " " I'm fine, but you need to be careful when you use your powers, they aren't all that strong. " " Eric, I took him down by myself with my own strength it had nothing to do with my new powers, I promise. " A Alright, but you do need to be careful, you're still vulnerable, still mortal. " " Ah, Lestrants, don't worry about me alright? I'll take good care of myself. After all have to be in good shape for track and that. " Eric just nodded, he had at least tried. How could he tell her that being with him put her life in danger? Even though the Losterans hadn't come for him, yet, they would soon, and he knew it. His family had helped someone that they had tried to kill. " Good day, hey, Lestrants how's it going? " The young girl asked. " I'm alright, Callista this is Kirisa, she's a friend of the family's. " " Hey. " She waved and smiled at her. " I'd like a hamburger with French fries and ketchup. " " Change isn't complete. " Eric whispered. " I see, we'll have that right out to you, Callista. " Callista nodded and laid her head back, she sighed then turned to Eric. " You sure your okay? " " Perfect, couldn't be better. " He replied, smiling at her. She leaned in closer to him and gave him a slow yet brief kiss. " Alright." She whispered and leaned back. ************************************************************** Orison liked the fact that Eric had taken Callista, now he could talk to Kiori, in peace. He didn't know what he would say to her but he would try to make conversation. After all he did like her and she was dangerously attractive and off limits, to any of his kind. When he entered the room he noticed that a young man sat by her. A changer, he could tell that right away, his silver highlights told him that. He had midnight black hair and green eyes, they held yellow specks in them , another trait of the changers. He was also competition, a changer was not so easily dealt with as a mere human. What to do, what to do, he thought. He couldn't think with all the minds teasing his, one stuck out like a sore thumb, the teacher standing at the door. She was a tall woman with chest nut hair and sea green eyes, mortal, definitely, mortal. He watched as she walked over to the other changer sitting at the table with Kiori, she whispered something and the girl nodded and left with her. Who was that? He thought and then dismissed it as he watched the young man leave as well. He nodded at him as he passed. - I'm a friend, I don't want to hurt you, Orison, but if you hurt Kiori, I am not afraid to take you down. - - Thanks for the warning, changer, but I'm not scared of you. - He just shrugged and walked off, Orison walked over to the table where Kiori sat. She didn't even look up at him as he sat, she was staring into her drink, a soda from the looks of it. " Hey, we got off on the wrong foot. " He started, sounding pathetic even to himself. " I'll say. I'm Kiori Gernia, one of the best hunters in the area. " " I know, its in your file, I know everything about you. Even the fact that you just hide behind that mask of toughness when really you're a sweet girl. " " And you just act tough to scare people, scared to get close to someone? " She asked, a small smile formed on her two ruby lips. " Well, how do you feel about mortals? " " Also good at avoiding questions when asked about love life, I'll keep that in mind. " The smile now had turned into a grin. " Well, they're alright, they do have a tendency to get on my nerves more than our kind, I mean changers and all that. " He nodded, he slowly licked his lips, he was starting to get that feeling again, that feeling of hunger, of thirst. " I'm the same way, mortals make me mad more often then not." " Especially that one. " She pointed to the one who had just entered the room. " That is Allan Corse, he's a fiend, and I can't wait 'til someone gets him. " " Yeah, I heard about him and Jasmine, Callista too. " He watched the vein on her neck throb, he shook his head. " You alright? " She asked noticing that he was staring at her. " Fine, I'm fine. " His own voice said, but inside he was screaming, he needed something soon. " Orison, you don't look fine. You look overly pale. " She looked at his veins, and noticed what the problem was. " You haven't eaten all day. Come on we'll get that fixed. He let her take him into the nurses office, who was also an aura witch. She had long blue hair and sparkling silver eyes, she turned to them, and smiled. " What can I do for you, sister? " " Orison hasn't fed all day and needs something soon, or he'll attack a student. " She told her " Sister? " Orison whispered. " See what I mean, he's weak, he can't go on like this. " " I see well sit him down, I'll get something. " She set him down on the bed and sat beside him, he could feel her body heat, even though she wasn't close to him. She turned from him for a second, her purple hair swept back, revealing her throat, the veins pulsed. He closed his eyes as tight as he could, no, he wouldn't, not here, not to her.
