The Church of South Cross was like any other church in that it was a place to worship the lord. The uniquie thing was not the church itself , but the members and the father who ran worship. By this I don't mean that they where evil or a cult I just mean they were unique. Most notably Father Cayde. His history with the military is not well known. He tells a spare few of his time in it, but it can be said with certanty that it was not a normal term. Most don't thing of such things and come with only questions of the lord or for guidance. The church is quite diffrent. Many know of its's horrid history in detail. The Church had been used during the Nazi campaign for experiments, interagations and torture. The experiment were said to have dealt with the occult, and the dead, but most only remember about the torturous screams that echoed from it's walls every night and day. Now it is not a place of vile pain, but of serene sancutary. There are no long screams , but instead songs that issue form the doors of the church. Nazis no longer occupy it , intead there is Father Cayde sitting is his favorite chair at his favorite desk, where he sits now. He looks around admiring the church and it's holy monumentation to the Lord. He had been perpare the sunday lesson for severl hours not and he was getting stiff. He figure he should take a walk and see if the was anyone in the church main with need of help. As he rose from his chair the door to his private office burst open. A man wearing a home depot jacket and a DeWalt hat that covered his eyes came into the room and aproched the desk. The man slamed his palms down on the desk with with quit e a bit of force. The man spoke in a soft mutter, so that Cayde had to strain to hear him.
" Father I have a Question of vital importance."
" What is it my son?" Cadye spoke in a concerned voice.
" I...I..I must know... if... if its a sin... if its a sin to..to eat a chocolate jesus?" Cayde stared at the man now with anger, but the suddnenly understood.
" David!"As he spoke the name he exploded with laughter. The man took off his hat and laughed with the father.
" You guessed it!" The two of them stood there laughing for nearly a full minute. When they finaly settled down the Cayde spoke. " So,what did you want David?"
" I wanted to know if you wanted to go for a bite to eat?" He spoke will a normal voice now. "you've been sitting in that chair of your for hours now, you should take a break."
" Yes, I was about to see if there was anyone who needed help, and then take a short walk."
" There's no one in the Main, so lets go."
"Alright I guess a short food break won't hurt."
As the two debated on where to go for lunch, There was a knock at the door.
" Come in." Cayde said.
" I can't, I won't fit." The voice was instantly recognizable.
" Alright Mark, We'll come out there." Cayde open the door and move to the Main. He had guessed right In front of him stood the giant of a man known as Marcus Bueller. Nearly 10 ft. tall and weighing at nearly 500lbs. , this was not a man who could go without notice. Wearing cargo pants and a tank top with a overjacket with a half a dozen pockets, all filled with emergancy survivul gear, that he learned to carry because of his increadible bad luck, he was ready for anything.
" Great timing Mark, we were just about to go get a bite to eat, wanna come?" David offered.
" Well, I suppose I could come, all I was doing was wandering around anyway."
" Wonderful, why don't we go see if Carl would like to join us." As cayde spoke he began walking toward the door.
" It's not likely." David said as he joined him.
" Yea, he rarly leaves the store to sleep, much less eat." Mark said in agreeance.
" Well it can't hurt to see." The three began toward the Half-Price Books Store. When they entered Carl was sitting in his desks at the regester as he usualy did. Carl was a unique character. Not of tall stature, or of great speech, something he did have, and in great abundance, was wisdom. Why, almost everyone went to Carl for advice, espetialy those who did not use the father.
