Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement protesting the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence which is caused by ahrrassment, prejudice, and discrimination. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today.
Anyone that reads this, that might have wanted to/haveactually participated in this, post a comment. You can tell me why you did or just say you did. You don't need to tell me anything. I will post a comment myself, saying why I did.

My reason is because I am bisexual. I know many bis and gays and even a transgender. The transgender I know was only allowed to go through with surgery because his older brother commit suicide b/c he wasn't allowed to go through with the same thing. Due to those that feel held back by such predujice.. especially how christian this town is.... I participated.
