Ansem sat in his study, designing a new plan to attack the Sacred Castle.
~Leaders 3 and 7 will lead their army against the west side, 1 and 5 against the East, and myself and leader 8 in the front.~ Ansem thought, writing it down. ~Then five of the sub leaders will lead quadrants 9 and 10 to every main entrance and start attacking to gain entrance, then start fighting from the inside. Meanwhile I’ll have sections 6, 7, and 8 sneak behind the castle and surprise them. They’ll also serve as a distraction to help gain entrance into the sacred castle.~
A knock sounded at the door, breaking Ansem’s concentration.
“WHAT!? I'm busy!” he yelled.
The door opened, and one of his many sons entered, one of his most powerful at that. Takeru.
“What is it Takeru? I'm busy.”
“Simora has been sighted in the unicorn valley, do you wish to pursue her?”
“Yes, carry out. Send…quadrant 3. I have no need of them at this time.”
“Yes, father.” Takeru said and left.
Ansem sighed in frustration and leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. Simora…she had been slipping from his grasp a lot these past few months. Hiding and reappearing, over and over. He’s still not sure how she’s doing it, they’ve never had this much trouble finding her before. Simora…the only reason he was still trying to capture her was because that was part of the game he had set up around her. She was the reincarnation of his sister Escaflowne. Escaflowne, how he missed her.
^flashback^
His heart pounded in his chest, adrenaline rushed though his veins. He continued to sneak up behind the dark figure sitting next to the top of the waterfall. Closer, closer, almost there. Suddenly the figure shot up, spun around, grabbed Ansem by the collar of his shirt, and threw him down the waterfall.
“No fair Escaflowne!” Ansem yelled before he hit the water.
Another splash followed a moment later, then they both surfaced.
“You gotta work on keeping your heart calm brother, I could hear it from a mile away, it was beating so hard.”
“I can’t help it, I get so hyped up when I try to sneak up on you.”
“Probably because you’ve never been able to catch me by surprise.”
He laughed, “Yeah, I guess I’m trying too hard. I’ll get you next time.”
She laughed with him, “We’ll see. Now, whoever gets to the shore first wins, and the loser has to do the winner’s chores for a week.”
“You're on!” Ansem yelled and started swimming to the shore, Escaflowne hot on his heels.
A bit of, yelling, shoving, dunking, and kicking later, Ansem made it to the shore first.
“You still can’t beat me at speed sis!” Ansem said triumphantly.
“Alright, alright, let’s get home.”
“And now you have to do my chores for a week!”
“Who says?” Escaflowne said, feigning innocence.
“You did!”
“Really? I cant remember saying anything of the sort. Bye brother.” She said and ran off after having stuck her tongue out at him.
“Hey! That’s not fair! Get back here Escaflowne!” Ansem yelled and ran after her.
^End Flashback^
Ansem smiled a little at the memory, he cant believe how long ago that was. As far as he could tell, he was the oldest dark demon alive. And he’s had so many sons, dead and alive, that he can’t count them or remember them all. Ansem shook his head a little, then leaned over his desk and went back to planning. But the memory of his sister still lingered in the back of his mind.
