Yesterday I went to Fanime! (my first anime convention!)
When we first arrived, my reaction was "WOW! So many cosplayers! I'm home!" And my friend and I walked around outside for a bit, trying to figure out where we should be, until my other friend called us, and we met up at the entrance. At first we stood in the wrong line for about... somewhere between 20-40 minutes, but my friend just kept apologizing, until she had to leave us (she was working a booth there) and my friend and I were left to battle certain boredom in a 4 hour line. When we were almost there my friend came and told me she had to have me meet someone, and before I was able to leave one of her highschool friends came up. She seemed pretty hyper, and I was a bit confused because my brain had been fried from the 3 1/2 hours we had been standing in line. Then she told them to save my spot and I went out of line to meet these people. They were also friends of hers, one of which I glomped because they acted like Tsuzuki. As a result the three people I had just met were "out getting sodas and we were saving their spots all along".
This thought made me thirsty, and I was craving soda, so I ran up to a soda machine, which wouldn't take my money. One of my friends friends tried to get the dollars in, and when it wouldn't we tried coins. I put them all in expectantly, but then when I chose the soda I wanted, it just gave me my money back, and I shouted, "NO!! This isn't a soda machine! It's a money machine!!"
By then it was time to go in, and we all went to find our friends booth. It was right next to a yaoi booth with a huge picture of guys kissing. My friend told me that sometimes she would forget it was there and look over and she'd be like "ACK! other way... other way..." XD
Then me and the friend I came with left to meet up with two of my friends that were smart enough to get there early and only had to stand in line for 1 1/2 hours. We spent a lot of time at the gaia booth, because one of them wasn't much into anime. We also went to Kareoke, and none of us were brave enough to go up and sing (including one of my friends who actually can sing *glares* you know who you are).
Later on we went over to the gaia booth again, where sarah and sean were going to claim their tickets (sorry for using your names.... it was getting too complicated without them) and then I saw the O RLY hats for sale. I kinda drooled at first, I think, and then I started spazzing about it, tearing up my bags and pockets for money to buy it. But then... all I had was a five dollar bill. "Alice... all I need is 15 dollars more..... please.....?" I gave her the puppy dog eyes, but she refused coldly. "Sarah....... *sniffles* I just need a bit more.. I really want that hat...." but she didn't have enough. "Sean.....? Please?" and he wouldn't give me all the money he had left (for some reason). After a long time of sniffling and sulking about the hat, a very nice guy who was behind us in line to spin the wheel ended up trading me his 10 dollar bill for my 5, and then one of my friends gave me her 10 dollars even though she wanted to buy something and I ran over to buy the hat and spazzed about it some more. I got a ticket for it and got to spin the wheel, and I ended up getting a pimp hat which I have yet to receive. It's not all that bad of an item. I've heard it's pretty expensive. smile
Later on Sarah and Sean had to leave, so I found my friend working at the booth and her friends again, and we went around glomping/hugging people with "hug me" or "glomp me" signs. There was one guy who people were hugging, and then I turned around him and found a "glomp me" sign, so then I glomped him, which now in hindsight may have been a bit awkward because I was behind him......
Anyways, we also found that guy who helped me get my hat, and I glomped him, I think. Or maybe I just hugged him. After about an hour of dragging my friend along (she doesn't like hugging most people, and never glomps anyone) I realized that she was probably pretty bored, so I called my parents to pick us up, and we waited outside for them to pick us up. I asked her if she had fun, and she said yes, so I guess she was just tired.
if you helped me get my hat, unknown stranger, and you by some miracle happen upon this journal entry, please PM me! I want to thank you again! smile
