Fight back against my family
The loving empathy that they lack
Every word feels like an attack
And they don't even know how to handle me?

I was once, and remain, a gem in their eyes
A gem whose brilliance can't be compared
But underneath the beauty, there were lies
And underneath the quality, there was despise
And I know that they never cared

So why do I?
