• “Mama, when’ll I get my new name?” asked Tiny to Mama.
“When you’re older and do something important that tells penguins about your deeds.” She answered. For a penguin, she was huge!
Tiny was the youngest most adorable penguin in all of Antarctica. Tiny disliked it.
    “What if I don’t?”
    “You will.” she said calmly.
    “I won’t!”
    “You will.”
“I won’t!” he said and threw a temper tantrum.
“Get out! Don’t come back until you do something that is beneficial to the penguin race!”
Tiny thought better than to ask her what that meant, so he watched sullenly as she shut the door on him. He started to cry and started to waddle feebly and sniffle his way to the ocean. The whole time, he knew he could only come back if he did something important. In his big heart, he wondered what to do. His chubby little stomach, white feathers, adorable hushed baby voice, large forget-me-not blue eyes, a beak that was usually open, and the tiniest little feet.
Today, his beak wasn’t open, and a tear trickled down from his sad blue eyes. His little feet weren’t waddling anymore, but shuffled instead. Meanwhile, he came to the ocean. With a sigh, he started to swim. In the middle of the ocean, he overcame a boat of humans. In front of the boat, there was a wounded seal. Tiny’s heart jumped out. Seal’s are predators to penguins, and this one was awfully large. Tiny, scared out of his wits, hid behind the boat. The seal was coming closer, and closer- and he fainted.
When Tiny awoke, what seemed to be all the penguins in the North Pole were goggling at him with wide-open beaks. Mama was crying until he opened his eyes. “Darling, I thought you were gone!” she said while hugging the life out of him.
“I’m fine.” He said trying to get out of her grasp.
“What were you doing?” asked Chief.
    “Well, Mama threw me out-“
“Yes, we know. Say what you’re doing in the middle of the ocean.” Chief said interrupting.
“I saw a penguin that was in trouble with a big seal. I told him to pick on someone his own size. He looked at me and slapped my face. So, I beat him up and he swam away bleeding.”
“Now I think of it, I did see Earl swim away bleeding yesterday.” He muttered to himself.
Tiny’s beak dropped in astonishment. Earl was the most notorious seal in history!
“You did well.” Chief said smiling. The penguins gasped. Here was a London educated penguin, smiling at a little penguin! He even had a deep British accent to go along with it!
    “T-T-Thank-you sir.” he said stuttering.
By the weeks end, everyone had heard this story, but with added details. Chief was thinking of giving Tiny a new name! Life was good!
Meanwhile, everyone was laughing at Earl. He, who ate adult penguins, was beaten up by the littlest of them all! He vowed that he would find the little penguin and give him a lesson of his own…
“-Then, I said that he had no right to hit penguins, and so I socked his eye and said-“
“Tiny, I ask you to come for a grave matter.”
“Sure.” He said goodbye to the crowd of penguins, and followed Chief. Chief led him to Earl who was sitting on a chair too small for him and said that Earl wanted a rematch and left.
“W-W-What lesson do you want to teach me sir?”
“Don’t exaggerate. I do remember seeing a little penguin, but remember that the little penguin hid behind a ship that was coming instead of helping a wounded seal. The little penguin watched me, fainted, and then started to sink in the ocean. The seal, though wounded, carried the little penguin to where the other penguins lived.”
“Why didn’t you eat me?” asked Tiny with his cute little chin wobbling.
“Do you believe I eat penguins? It just so happened that when I too was called Tiny, (Tiny leapt for joy at that) I saw a wounded penguin and, said I ate him up to get rid of my name.”
After they had a long discussion about names, he told everyone the truth, got a new name called Truth, and never exaggerated again.
