And Apathy is our crime.
Once a choice, now a chore
Cannot forget what they fought for
Time moves on, nothing lasts
Ignorant oppression works too fast
Our flag tall, for love and pride
For love, freedom, for those who died
To the flag, the leaf red and white
Cannot give up we need to fight
They fought in trenches, a sea of green
Ended the torment of the Nazi machine
Once was the common folk, now thirsts for blood
Fighters for justice, facedown in the mud
Countless battles not spared by time
No thought for the future, apathy is our crime
Acknowledge the heroes whos deeds are grand
But what becomes of the common man
Mothers at home join together to pray
Wives and children carry on with their day
Fathers dream of sons so great
Sadness hits and communities relate
Sovereignty, Justice and families brave
Canada is now a truly safe place
The land, the sea, the mountains climb
Take note, apathy is our crime
Go forth! To glory, they'll honor our names
We must continue these twisted games
Hope strewn along the floor
Hatred the key to this evil door
But in the end all is well
They tell stories of this forgotten hell
The stories don't last in the sea of time
Do not forget as apathy is our crime
