Caitlin stood on the edge between a field and a forest. A breeze flicked some of her long blond hair into her face. Caitlin retrieved it while taking in her surroundings. The forest looked old, all the trees being pines that reached to the heavens. The field was lush with wild flowers and animals rustled through it's expanse.
Caitlin was enjoying the scenery when a thought came to her, "Where am I?! What am I doing here?! Where is here?!" She took a few deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. "Mom? Dad? Oh no, what am I going to do?!!"
As Caitlin stood there thinking, she was slowly working herself into a panic. Soon she was so out of it that she didn't even realize she had started running, and was now a fair ways into the forest. She hardly even noticed the cabin that passed, or the sound of a nearby river. That is, she didn't notice it until she fell face first into it. Luckly, she had tripped into a shallow part of the river, but that still didn't help the fact that it left her soaking wet, and covered in fresh mud.
"Ugh, just my luck" Caitlin pulled her sleeve across her face, trying to wipe away as much mud as possible, with very little success. Giving up on her face, Caitlin just sat there, in the river. Though her whole body felt like one big bruise, the fall had shocked her back into her normal state of mind, and she began thinking of her next course of action.
"Well, I could walk around the forest, trying to find food and some sort of shelter. But more than likely, there'll be wolves and bears out here, so maybe that's not sucha good idea. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm." Caitlin dipped her sleeves into the water in an attempt to wash away some of the mud. "I think I passed a cabin on the way over here. Maybe someone's in there who can help me! " Caitlin got up and rang out all the water she could from her clothes and headed in the direction she thought she had come from.
