If you've got the poison... |

I got the remedy. ^.^
FINALLY! THIS is the song I couldn't remember s**t worth for months!! I've been trying to think of what this damned song was called, what it SOUNDED like, how it went, and what the lyrics were! XD All I could remember was that it was a rock song sung by a male, and one of the lyrics in the song was 'poison.' While talking about it with a friend on the phone today, another word occured to me. 'Antidote.'
As soon as I got home, after I finished eating, I went straight to google and searched 'Poison Antidote lyrics.' Granted, The Hives and Calibre showed up, so I looked at both, but immediately recognized them as not being the song I'm looking for. However, it was as I looked at the second one-the one by The Hives-THE BEGINNING OF THE CHORUS CAME TO ME! I actually mentally heard the melody and the song faintly fading into full sound as I remembered the chorus and began to sing it. "If you gots the poison, I gots the remedy, the remedy!"
"YES!! YES!! It was REMEDY-NOT ANTIDOTE! XD" My mom was like "See, it's REMEDY, not Antidote, you dork!"
"Well, an antidote is a kind of remedy... and besides, I was close for not remember a thing about the song other than it makes me think of a late afternoon summer day while on a certain ride at Great America..." AND IT DOES!!
So the list is now: Someday by Sugar Ray, When it's Over by Sugar Ray, and REMEDY by Jason Mraz (So I have listened to his music before...)
What do these three songs have in common? They all make me think of California, but most importantly, they make me think of SUMMER in California... XD These songs sound like what Summer feels like to me. Warm, lazy, calm, peaceful, mellow... maybe a little romantic. ^.~ (Okay, definitely romantic. Hence why Someday is in there too. XD Actually, the only reason Always Be My Baby doesn't count is because it reeks to me of summer NIGHT as opposed to late afternoon... or California, really...)
There are certain songs that just always bring to mind late afternoon summer in California or Great America (which is in California, obviously... well, we have one. XD). Those two songs by Sugar Ray and that one by Jason Mraz are particularly reminiscent.... as is Maroon 5's "This Love." I'll see if I can post the lyrics to these songs as I remember them.
The reason why I'm trying to compile a decent list of them is because I would just like a list of these particular songs so that if one day I am perfectly able, I can burn a CD with all of these 'summer songs' on it...
There are a couple by Shakira that also make me think of travelling... so does 1000 Miles by what's her name. XD *Feels only a little bad as she's too content to feel bad about much of anything.* I'm just being honest!
So far, the list is:
Hotel California by The Eagles This Love by Maroon 5 Someday by Sugar Ray When it's Over by Sugar Ray and Remedy by Jason Mraz.
Anyway, here are the lyrics to Remedy!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
I saw fireworks from the freeway And behind closed eyes I cannot make them go away 'Cause you were born on the fourth of july, freedom ring Now something on the surface it stings I said something on the surface Well it kind of makes me nervous Who says that you deserve this And what kind of god would serve this? We will cure this dirty old disease If you've got the poison I've got the remedy
The remedy is the experience. This is a dangerous liaison I say the comedy is that it's serious. This is a strange enough new play on words I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend The rest of your nights with the light on So shine the light on all of your friends When it all amounts to nothing in the end.
I won't worry my life away.
I won't worry my life away.
I heard two men talking on the radio In a cross fire kind of reality show Uncovering the ways to plan the next big attack They were counting down the ways to stab The brother in the be right back after this The unavoidable kiss, where the minty fresh Death breath is sure to outlast this catastrophy Dance with me, because if you've got the poison, I've got the remedy
When I fall in love I take my time There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind You can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine and I'll tell you why
Because
The remedy is the experience.
I won't and I won't and I won't
