I had the time of my life Sunday night! I'm still on some kind of a natural high from that show and it's Tuesday morning...
My dad got Meet n' Greets, too! So, I got to meet Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee. Let me just say that Alex is so sweet! heart Everyone who went to the Meet n' Greet got an exclusive keychain that shoots the Starman on the wall. I had so much fun with that last night.
Before the concert and in between the band's sets, the venue was playing a bunch of classic Progressive Rock so it made the wait bearable.
I just gotta say that Rush's intro videos are so cool. I was hoping they'd play "The Wreckers" but they had played that on Friday night so we weren't getting it in Tampa. *sigh* but they played "Clockwork Angels" in its place, so that works, too. During "Far Cry" they shot off some kinda firecracker and I was filming some of the song (because I LOVE it) and the explosion scared the hell out of me. I almost dropped the darn camera! rofl
They did "Animate" though! I was hoping they'd play more from Counterparts but I should just be lucky they played that song. "Roll the Bones" was so good as it always is. Um... let's see. Oh, they had pyro, too! During "One Little Victory" (I think) they shot fire from the stage and we felt the heat way back where we were (which really wasn't that far - we were on the first level above the floor).
The second intro video was a compilation of previous intro videos and outtakes. It was so funny! There was even a bunch of Slobovich! "The last person who took my sausage... was an idiot..." Then they started in on "Tom Sawyer" and I air drummed to the song the whole time. It's a good thing I could stand up and not bother anyone. The double-neck guitars made an appearance during "Xanadu", they had a crystal ball hanging from the ceiling during the encore, and just everything was so perfect! Neil Peart had a really kick-a** drum solo. My dad bought me a concert shirt, too.
I couldn't have asked for a better night.
Gosh, I want to do that again!
