On the way home from school one night Maki happens across A frantic Star Fairy named Tetsu. Surprised she could see him he asks her for help him find the star fragments that had scattered from his grasp when he arrived. He gives her one of the shards he had left and gave her the power to become a star angel who would help retrieve and protect the star shards from the Darkris who was trying to drown his world in darkness.
