Character History: Curtis was a very shy child who would rather read and stay indoors than play outside with the others. While his parents wished he would be more social, they still loved him regardless of his antisocial habits. In school he was, yet again, the quiet one. He did all his work and got straight A's, but had few friends due to his bookworm habits of shutting himself off in the library.
But one day, he meet an odd girl named
Tarra. She was energetic, rough, crude, and blunt. Curtis was drawn to her from the first day she knocked him over and told him to watch out. As odd of a meeting as that was, the two became greet friends. The two seemed like an unlikely pair, being complete opposites of each other, but what one lacked the other made up for.
As the two started high school they began dating. That is when Curtis realized Tarra had more issues than she let on. She was emotionally distressed and unstable. Though Curtis was able to heal many wounds she had, he was unable to help fix one big problem, her family life was a huge wreck. her mother slept around and her dad was a drunk who beat her. Curtis tried his hardest to keep her out with him as long as possible, inviting her over and taking her out places.
This worked for almost three years till one day Curtis received a call from the police. They told him Tarra had be found in her room hanging from her ceiling fan, she'd hung herself after one of her fathers drunken spells. That nice all Curtis's hope of finally breaking from his quiet shell and living peacefully with Tarra shattered. Curtis became even more of a shut in before. After he graduated early, wanting to run away from society as fast as he could, he became a librarian at an old library that nobody seemed to remember. He's worked there since, only talking to his parents from time to time and living in a small house next door to the library.
