"'When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid.
I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the
keys of death and Hades.'" The Revelations of John, Chapter 1 Verse 17-18
He knew his name, because it was inscribed onto the door. He knew basic things, like his general age and how things were
outside his cell of a room. Idiot. Still, he instinctively knew he had to get out... had to get free. We await you.... He looked around quickly. He could've sworn... He had no time for this... The room had no window, not even a one sided. There was a small, obviously broken, camera in one corner and a drawer. He lifted his heavily bandaged hands as if testing them out. Stiff, but they moved and could grip. [so are you leaving now?] Zane nodded. [you could stay here you know, just let everything go...] Zane wouldnt, couldn't allow that for some reason. He stood up on weak legs, and opened the door into a metal hallway. [Left.] Zane started walking down the hallway to the left. [why cant you stay here? do you have some all consuming need to be a hero?] Zane shrugged. He just felt that there was... more. [thoughts like that can get you into trouble. I know that first hand. Staircase to your Right.] Zane went up the staircase. It looked familiar, but he couldn't place it. [Its an underground lab, not exactly legal, but... Well, lets just say that they asked few questions.] Zane raised an eyebrow. [your hands aren't exactly normal. Anyway, listen to the guy up ahead, you can trust him for now.] Zane rolled his eyes. The room that he finally entered was dark, cold, and a little unnerving. "So, you're Four, Zane?" said a male voice. Zane shrugged. "Cant talk? Doesnt matter. There are some things for you on the table. I dont like that Elm had you here, or what that could mean for things." Clothes, gear, all black with red markings. Even pokeballs that were red and black rather than the usual red and white. "I'll contact you on the pokegear later, get dressed and get out of here. Dont worry about taking your time, no one will wake up until noon tomorrow. "It said I could trust you for now." Zane said in a raspy voice. "For now, yes. I believe we are wanting the same thing: survival of this world. But there are things that 'Light' cannot do that 'Dark' can, so you should grow to be the 'Dark' for the good, just as there is 'Light' for the bad." Zane wondered if even the man knew what he'd just said- it went right over his preteen head. He finished dressing himself, and pulled on gloves over his skeletal hands. Just as he was about to go, he was stopped by the man's voice. "Good or evil, its tradition to give new trainers a starter pokemon," the man tossed him a pure black ball. "That one has a temper, but I dont think you'll have too many problems with it. Now get, I'll call you when I feel you've gotten far enough away." Zane nodded, and disappeared into the night.
