"Three Jounin class fighters you say?" Sarutobi sat across from Kuro, Ibiki and Anko. They had recounted the findings of the mission their team had been sent on, and now were describing the last few moments. "They had the markings, but no symbol for their village. One was the Missing Nin, 'Bleeder' Hara, and the other two bodies were too mangled to tell." Ibiki said. "I see. Kuro, can you tell me what happened from your perspective." Kuro had been silent from the beginning, a marked change from his previous devil-may-care attitude he'd previously exhibited. "Yes sir." he replied in a dull voice. "I had been chained for roughly nine days after being captured. Every day around noon the man known as Hara would ask me the whereabouts of my team, to which I would respond with sarcasm and disparaging comments about his ancestry. On the seventh day he entered and was quickly enraged by my banter, resulting in him drawing a blade and pinning me to the wall through my arm. I continued with my banter despite the injury, resulting in a blade through my arm and gut, and various other wounds inflicted over fifteen minutes. Eventually I lost consciousness. Following that, I was out for two more days and awoke to someone saying 'Orochimaru wanted it that way.' I made a noise upon waking, so they went to see if I had actually regained consciousness. I made a mistake and tested my bonds, revealing that I had awakened. One of the men went to get Hara, and the other remained and revealed their plans for me. Hara returned and...." Kuro seemed to be reliving the time in his memory. "H-he stabbed me. It hurt so much... I could feel my heart trying to keep the blood flowing despite it pouring out. It hurt, and hurt and hurt... it hurt so much, I couldnt stop crying... then something black started coming out... it ate through some of the sword and started flowing over me... I couldnt breathe anymore... it covered my eyes, and it... pulled on my arms... it grabbed the nearest one and bit his... It swallowed his head... it felt like I.... I dont like this, I dont... no no no" Kuro covered his eyes and cried. Sarutobi shook his head. It wasnt right that something like that should've happened to this boy. No human should have to deal with a beast of that ferocity, that pure monsterous energy, inhabiting their body. Kuro was a wreck, and felt he was the monster, but despite the fact that everyone in the room- including Kuro himself- knew that he'd had no say in the matter, the boy still had to deal with the fact that the blood was on his hands.
Sarutobi had called for Med nins to take Kuro to a ward to see if there was any lasting damage, and when they had left he turned to Anko and Ibiki. "I've heard what it looked like, and what was done, but what happened? The mission was for bandits, maybe a runaway Genin, not something like this... and Orochimaru? He's supposed to be dead!" Anko stared at the floor. "Its my fault that Kuro was caught, I left him behind while I scouted ahead, and couldnt find him when I got back. I assumed, at first, he'd gone to scout out other areas and would return... and then he didnt come back..." Sarutobi sighed. "I dont blame anyone here Anko, this wasnt anyone's fault really, but this worries me. First Naruto, then Kuro and Deryk? And that name on the wall... Enma is a legend, a proven Myth. How could a Myth be the thing inside Kuro?" "Sir, what is Enma exactly?" Ibiki asked. "Ive never heard of it myself." The Hokage stood and looked out the window. "Long, long ago, before even the Sage of Six paths and the Ten Tails, before even the wars preceding that, there was a kingdom of many powerful warriors, villages dotted the landscape, and Gods walked the land. Six of these so called 'Gods' supposedly existed in balance. Enma was a powerful man during this time, one that had been born of the union of two monsters, a Wolf with the wings of a Hawk, and a beast that was believed to be the ancestor of the ten tails. " Sarutobi looked back at the two Jounin. "This man known as Enma was supposedly a mass murderer, and fed on human flesh. Someone apparently sacrificed themselves to seal him in the land of the Dead, but that is only the beginning. After a few hundred years of imprisonment, one of the 'gods' offered Enma a deal. If Enma would bind himself into the god's service, he would free Enma from his imprisonment. Enma agreed immediately on the conditon he could never again be brought so low. Time passed and the man called Enma became like his parents, a fabled beast of power, serving only the God of Death." Anko was confused. "Then why does it matter, all those are just stories from the past right?" Sarutobi turned back to the window. "I used to think so, now I hope it is so."
