We have entered the forest, our most dangerous places to visit. We’ve been keeping relatively high up, mostly because I am afraid to cut our sails. Yesterday morning, people were cheering us on, like we were heroes, but now in the forest, all is silent. I’m sailing the ship slowly, and keeping our meals small as to preserve our food supplies and health. Edmund so far has not proved helpful, as he has yet to do anything or come out of his cabin. I shall go see what’s wrong. I hope he isn’t sick already. Edmund is fine; he said he was simply testing out a few things. That man confuses me, but yet because of him I was able to sleep last night well. We came across some ruins. Whatever was here seemed to be destroyed as soon as it was made. We tried to investigate, but there is too much blood, and too many bodies to continue searching. Although I’ve noticed we’re moving slightly faster. It’s night time now, Edward is manning the wheel. For dinner earlier we had simply some meat sandwiches. I’m not sure what kind of meat it was…Possibly snake?
