My personal relationship with this song: I tried to learn it back when I started learning how to play The Guitar.
I had heard back in middle school that this song is the one the vast majority of guitarists learn how to play when they start playing the guitar.
Going on that, I looked for tabs on how to play it, but the tabs that I found were far too difficult for a beginner to play: especially one with fingers far too short to play it.
About a week ago, my student told me she wanted to learn how to play this song. I explained to her what had happened to me, and then told her I would look up the song to try to teach it to her.
.... I've lagged significantly.
I asked my brother in the late afternoon if he would tell me his way of playing the song. Exasperated with me for taking up til NOW to show interest, he nonetheless showed me how to play it.
His version sounds right (according to him, that would be because it IS right!), and it's not hard to play at all...
.... Then again, I have been playing for three years...
But except for going up and down the fret bar at a certain speed, the song is NOT hard to play (not the main riff, anyway. XD The verse is largely easy, but gets a touch confusing. I think I should just give the old song another listen, for old time's sake. =3 ).
I will be more than happy to teach my student how to play this song. =3
