They reached the city about midday. It was alright, as far as Eyran was concerned, for something built by technology and not nature. It would've been better if there had been no meat vendors. He covered his nose and mouth with a cloth, and walked behind Terika with his hood up. Terika, for her part, was doing her best to make sure Eyran didnt notice that the animals being cooked were kept in cages behind the stall. "Do you hear something?" Eryan's muffled voice asked her. Dammit. "Um..." "I'm pretty sure I hear... is that a Pooka?" Crap, he'd stopped. "Eryan... Please dont start someth-" Wait, did he say Pooka? "Did you just ask if I heard a... Pooka?" "Pooka: A creature that gives live birth. Base form is a long eared catlike creature that grows to the size of a medium dog. Magical, can breed with multiple species due to shapeshifting. Protected by law. Yes, I said POOKA." his voice was getting angry, still muffled to protect his nose from the smell of meat. Terika had two options here. She could go, ignore it, and then the meat seller would be dead along with anyone who'd purchased meat from him, and anyone who got in Eryan's way- Wyrm would make sure of that. On the other hand, she could arrest him, release the creatures, and make a profit- while having heavy watch kept on her and Eryan for the rest of their stay. Yeah, that was a no brainer. Mostly because Eryan was already heading to kill the meat seller. "STOP!" she cried, drawing her sword. "I heard that you're selling an illegal creature as meat, one protected by law." The stop was for Eryan, but everyone froze at that point- well, Eryan slowed down and went behind the stall to get the pookas. That was vastly more reassuring than the bloodbath that would've ensued otherwise, he'd lost alot of innocence over the last two years. She pointed her sword at the meat seller. "You stay. Everyone else, Go." Nobody moved. "If you're here when the kid gets back, you're all dead. He lives only because I can give a reason to keep him alive- the rest of you will have an irrational Guardian and a Serpentine Dragon to deal with." The area emptied of everyone- even the guards.
Eryan was angry, very, very angry, and he didnt know why. Wyrm slithered restlessly across his shoulders, hissing in a way that made the dragon seem angry as the mage on whom he rode. "διαρρηγνύω!" he commanded the door that blocked him from the creature. It heaved and groaned and exploded around the enraged Guardian. The room behind the stall was filled with cages, several empty, but the others were filled to bursting with Pookas and rabbits. Master, the cages are trapped and spell locked. Wyrm said, licking a lock. A simple enough spell, but we need the Key to unlock them... A dark growl was emanating from Eryan's throat at those words. He would take that sack of flesh and.... but first, the Pookas.
Wyrm could sense his master's rage. His Master was angry, hurt because these creatures were locked up. When his master set him down to look for the Key, Wyrm slithered up to a cage holding the largest of the Pookas. [Ceantu,] he greeted them using their term for their race. [Are you all uninjured? My Master wishes for your freedom.] (Child of the Blood, we are mostly unharmed, though weak from hunger and a few of our Females are with kits or Ill from disease. We lost our Elder earlier. Is your Master the Master?) The words were jumbled together, like one long sentence, Wyrm had to work out what had been said. [It is good that you are mostly unharmed, and bad that your females are suffering. My Master wishes to erase the Bad Man, but he is not The Master. He has blood of The Master, but is not The Master.] Conversations between magical creatures were often difficult, especially with a young dragon like Wyrm, who had linear thoughts, but were not impossible. (All Men are Bad Men, Except for those chosen by The Master- as your Master must have been. Your Master does not smell like a Bad Man or a Good Man, but he does smell like the Master, and Mistress.) The pooka replied. (Bring him here, and I, Edraku, will tell him of the Bad Man and his Stupid Magic.) [Edraku, yes, Wyrm will get Master.] The snakelike dragon gave a nod and slithered over to his Master.
Eryan was losing his temper. Correction, his temper was upgrading from "kill everyone" to "Raze this place to the ground." Master! The Rabbit Creatures want to talk to you and tell you about the Bad Man's Stupid Magic! Wyrm told him as the dragon slithered back to his shoulder. "Bad Man's Stupid Magic?" Wyrm spoke like a child, and with childlike thoughts. So probably, the dumbass poacher had screwed up. "Alright little one, lets go talk to our friends. Edraku is them name of the Rabbit Creature. I'll tell you what he says Master! Wyrm said proudly. The dragon led him to one of the larger cages. Not knowing proper procedure, he bowed deeply and sat before the cage. Wyrm reached out his nose to the cage and hissed at the Pooka, and the Pooka looked from the Dragon to Eryan. Greetings Child of the Master, the Child of the Blood (that's me master!) says that you wish to free us and Erase the Bad Man. Though we have no trust for Man, or those of his like Image, we trust the Master. The Stupid Magic that seals our cages is powerful and dangerous, we have seen many of our kind die trying to open these doors. But, the walls of our cages are no-magic, and while too strong for us, may be destroyed without worry. Thats all he says Master. Did I do good? "Yes Wyrm, you did real good." He pet the dragons head a bit and thought on how to do this. "Alright everyone, Pease get as far away from the walls as possble..." he said, as he layed out the plan.
