Terika sat exactly where she had when Zakerin had seen her last, and part of him wanted to get even, but still, he was too well trained to attack a teacher- even one that could've gotten him killed.
"So you made it to the one month mark, as promised, I'll grant one request." she said.
"Re- Oh. Um..." He'd totally forgotten about it. "A blade? I'd like one I could use without too much difficulty... and have it not easily broken too." It'd be useful for his next month, or more.
Terika nodded. "It seems like a fair and sensible request. Fine, though I thought you'd want to embarrass me or something."
Zakerin twitched a bit, but held his temper. If she'd been through what he had, he was pretty sure where her personality had come from.
"Ive been eating the kills of dragons for the last three weeks, drinking alongside things that view me as a bite sized snack, nearly exploded due to a Queen Drakan exploding. Surviving is more on my mind than vengeance right now."
"True enough, I guess..." she stretched and looked out into the canyon as if debating. "Im going to give you an objective- one with a four month time limit."
Zakerin sighed. He wondered what kind of star he'd been born under to have such a crappy life.
"What, slay a dragon? Tame one of the various beasts? Eat a Drakan and survive?" he asked, sarcastic. "Smite down the Gods?"
"I'll keep those in mind for your next one, but this time I want you to find the source of the null barrier. It should be somewhere near the middle of the canyon."
He just stared at her.
"What? Did I stutter?" she asked, deliberately not looking at him.
"Are you crazy? Wait, lemme rephrase that, you're crazy. Do I have the word 'Dragon Treat' or 'Kill Me' tattooed anywhere? That's SUICIDE!"
"And you're going to start looking in three days, but rest here until I get back with your new blade."
Terika turned to walk away, and only then did she let her worry show on her face. The loss of Magic was bad, but if he died....
She had gotten almost out of earshot when she heard him yell
"That thing better have a way to slay Dragons on it!"
