Short Story: Untitled Love "Uruki, you have such lovely hair" Taki cooed, playin with a strand of her curls. "U-um, thank you" she said, her cheeks flaring. Why did she have to blush now? Taki looked at her with amazement in his eyes. He had never seen a girl with such a red face. He chuckled and ran his fingers across one of her cheeks, making them burn brighter. "Am I embarassing you?" He asked lightly. "No" she replied, " I mean yes, but, I mean, Um, I have to go do some unpacking and get ready for classes and make sure I washed enough of my clothes and..." she said, trying to find an excuse to get away before her face turned into a tomato.Turning, Uruki ran to her dorm and jumped into her bed. "How could I be so embarassing. Rambling on an on like that. maybe i should turn into a cat permanently" she said to herself... No don't think like that she heard her mother say. She sat up in her bed, and opened her eyes. But she wasn't in her dorm. She was back in the village of her childhood, staring at her young self and her mother. But mommy, they all like me batter when I'm an animal her younger self cried. When I'm a kitty no one laughs at me. She new what her mother would say next. She was dreaming this dream again. What would I do if you were gone? Mommy needs you here. Suddenly her dream turned dark. "What's happening?" she asked to herself. "This isn't part of the-" she stopped midsentence. She knew what was happening. Demons were coming. And not your friendly demon tribes or your miniscule demons. Murderer's were coming. Trying to wake up, Uruki cried out to herself. "Wake up! Come on! WAKE UP!!!" Suddenly a demon flew towards her. "I thought I couldn't be seen in my dreams?" she asked in a worried tone. Then she heard her mother's screams. Her father would come home with her sister and he would be murdered as well. Her sister never had forgiven Uruki for their parents death. She saw it as her fault. Just before the demon devoured her, something hit her in the face. Gasping she blinked rapidly and threw whatever it was off of her and looked back up. She was in her dorm. And it was her pillow that had hit her. Seeing that the dream was over, Uruki started feeling her surroundings. She hadn't wet the bed or destroyed anything. Her amulet was still locked tightly around her neck. Her face, however, was running water like niagra falls. As she wiped her face, she decided going back to sleep was probably not the best idea at the moment. She turned on her lamp and got out one of her many journals. She started where she left off in writing her story. After a while, She had written about 6 more paragraphs.Getting bored with her writing, Uruki decided to take a walk around campus. She changed out of her wet jeans and shirt and found that the only thing she had unpacked was her black dress. Putting that on, she held down the skirt and jumped out the window. she thought to herself who needs doors when you can simply take the quick way out? Laughing at the statement that was so true it was scary, she landed on her feet and started walking towards the sidewalk. Her friend Sabrina heard the thought. She laughed mentally to herself. I agree. She sent to her still laughing mentally. I wasn't thinking of that in a way that ment just jumping out windows she thought towards her in reply. It's a pretty easy way out too. Uruki thought solomly. Suicide was never an option for her. It was weak, petty, and stupid. Who would take their life because of depression? Thinking back, she altered her way of thinking a bit. she had tryed that. It never worked. So why bother trying anymore? She laughed to herself. What an akward thought process she had. Sabrina heard this as well. You shouldnt think that way. Life is as important as death, no matter what happens during our lifetime. Sad or extremely happy memories are equal in importance. Uruki walked along the sidewalk, trying to rid herself of the aweful nightmare. Seeing a pond, she walked over towards it. It glistened in the fading sunlight and made her eyes glow a silvery blue. The snark inside her truely wished to be free and jump into the cool moisture, and she almost let it. Even to her, the water would feel like heaven. But she steadied herself. If she let that thing out now, she may never be able to return to this form. However, she wasn't going to torture the creature. After all it WAS a part of her. Slipping off her shoes and socks, she put her feet into the water and watched them slightly morf and grow scales. This didn't frighten her. It happened whenever she was near a body of water that wasn't a pool or a bathtub. Feeling the water sent tingles down her spine. She knew how dangerous it was, but she didnt care. She slipped into the water and dove to the bottom, feeling the slight tickle of her scales forming under her skin. she felt the gills sprout on her neck and breathed in the wonderfull scent of the water. She loved the way it felt on her skin. She want to stay here forever. No, the thing inside her wanted to stay here forever. It might just get It's way she thought to herself. Knowing the danger she just put herself in, she drifted to the top of the water and started to pull back her hair. "Having fun Uruki?" his voice asked. "It sure looks like it." Uruki turned slowly. Sitting on the edge of the pond she saw Taki. He was staring at her with pure awe. She could feel her face turning red once again. She waas about to make an excuse for being in the water, but was inturupted. "You know, you look simply dazzling. No matter what you're wearing, jeans, a dress, gills even. You just look amazing" he said with a smile. "Mind if i join you in there?" "Uh, um I-I was just about to get out actually. But you can get in if you want Taki" "No thank you my dearest Uruki. It would not be as much fun with out you here. What would you like to do?" Uruki looked at him, blushing and baffled. "Um, I, uh, need to change. But after that we can go for a walk or something. I mean, if you want to that is. I mean, uh, um..." Did she seriously just ask Taki to take a walk with her?! Maybe she was becoming less shy. But then, why would she be rambling? Taki pressed his finger to her lips. "Don't fret. You have nothing to be embarassed about. I asked you after all. We can do whatever is most comfortable for you, whether that's having dinner or taking a walk. You seem to be frightened of people, and that's understandable considering your childhood. But please, do not be afraid of me. Although you shyness is part of your cuteness" he said, smiling and brushing his fingers across her red cheeks again. Lacing his fingers through hers, he stated "Now I'm going to walk you to your dorm like any good boyfriend would, you are going to change, and then we can have some fun. I hear there's a fair in town. I mean, if you want to that is. But I would love it if you would." Boyfriend? she thought excitedly. Did he just call himself my boyfriend?! WOW! Knowing she was blushing even brighter, she took his advice and left her fears behind them as they walked. She gripped his hand lightly and nervously said "O-ok. That sounds like fun." Walking back towards her dorm, she looked at him in the fading sunlight. He was quite handsom. She could finally see what the other girls were talking about. Although this was also the first time she really looked at him too. He looked over and saw her staring at him. She could feel her cheeks turn red as he smirked at her. "Are you going to stand there staring at me the whole time or are you going to change so we can leave?" he asked her, laughing. Uruki looked around. They had stopped walking and were in front of her dorm. "U-um, I'll be right back" she said, poofing into her dorm. She hated keys and figured she might as well flaunt her powers. Changing into her cute but not overly revealing black jeans and Dark blue long sleeved blouse, she said nervously to her slef "What am I supposed to do? I've never been on a date before." Poofing back out in front of of Taki, she told him "I'm ready, let's go." Smiling and taking his hand again, she let him lead her off campus and down to the town square.
When they got there, she saw a ferris whell, a small rollar coaster, a scrammbler ride, photo booths, food tables, and many game booths. "Isn't this amazing?" he asked her. "So many colors and lights. People smiling everywhere, delicious food, and a lot of things to do. Plus it's a great place to go if it's your first time in the human world for over a century. Romantic, fun, or a mix of the two. The fair is great!" Taki told her excited. Grabbing her hand he pulled her towards the ferris wheel. She had always wanted to ride one. She had only seen them in pictures, and she thought they would be much smaller. This one was huge. She couldn't wait to ride it. As they waited in line, Taki wraped his arm around her shoulders. "I could get used to this" he told her. "U-uh huh" she stutttered in agreement. Her face turned a bright red and she smilled as she leened into him. As they made their way up the line, her bluush faded and she put her arm around his waist and smiled wider. When they got to the front she let go and sat in the bench-style seat and scooted over to the edge. She was eager to begin riding. She waited impatiently as Taki got in behind her and they made sure the bar was locked firmly in place. It took so long! "You seem very excited" he told her, holding her hand in the seat. "Is it fear or lack of experience making you so bouncy?" he asked, curious. "Both I think. I've never riden a ferrice wheel, so I'm afraid of it" she said, laughing at herself. She felt as the ride jolted to a start, the seet they were in rocking as they were lifted. "Oh wow! I've never been on anything like this before!" she cooed as they went up. And up and up. Were all ferris wheels this big? Taki looked at her, laughing. "You're adorable. Like a kid in a candy store" he teased, playing with her fingers, which she had unknowing laced through his. He smiled at their softness, the way she blushed as she realized what she'd done. It was amazing. Was this that feeling they called love? Whatever it was, they both hoped it would last long. Very long. Uruki blushed deeply as Taki leaned over, kissing her. "It may be unjust, it may be unfai, but hey, it's Untitled Love" he said, smiling at her.
