Chapter IX: Call of Duty
It was night time at the D-force head quarters. A feast was prepared by one of Davaku’s associates John Ainshints. (The guy Davaku dueled in chapter four) While Davaku, Mr. Takahashi, Shinoda and Andy were discussing future developments of D-force Tomasa had been stuffing her face.
“I’m curious, what you plan to do once you apprehended the criminal” Mr. Takahashi cut a bit of sirloin popping it into his mouth, his question was for Davaku.
“A pressing issue for most officers, but with the military duel disk the need for apprehension will be a thing of the past” Davaku often boast about machines created by his company.
“We can’t kill everyone using it” Andy found the idea of murder against his religion, whatever that might be and unusual punishment.
Shaking his head Davaku frowned “we won’t have too, we just need to lower the pain setting and they will be out cold after the duel is done.”
Tomasa nodded her head as if she were paying attention. Her mind was more focused on the desserts Travis continued to bring out to her; she hadn’t touched any of the actual main courses. At the moment she was digging into a cup of custard ice cream.
Rolling his eyes at her Davaku put her on the spot “as most powerful duelist in the organization, what do you think we should do?”
A spoon was in the poor girls mouth and she swallowed thinking “idono, I’m not leading this thing, just consider me a soldier or something” she shrugged; her concentration on the food was over shadowing her ability to think straight. Shinoda smirked at her, and then looked to Davaku.
“I like your idea, we go after the criminal leaders and as head of research I’ve already compiled a list of the top ten crime bosses in Domino” he didn’t have his paper at the table, because it would be improper, but he had information on every single known criminal in the city.
“Looks like you will serve a purpose after all” Davaku grinned, sipping down a glass of wine “but for now a toast, to the D-force” he raised his glass after sipping (backwards, yet bold) “we wiped an island clean of a terrible monster and we shall do the same for the city.”
Mic lifted his glass, with an ironic grin on his face. He knew that Rainbow dragon had yet been completely silenced and his devious plan was soon to be set in motion. What he desired first was to split the D-force up, and then he could take them out one by one.
A cross town in a candle lit room, Brian had been preparing for his own personal mission “my beloved…” he gazed at a picture in his room of a young lady with brown hair, she was wearing a yellow dress, standing next to her in the portrait was a young man wearing a white tuxedo, he had brown hair and a great smile. Brian was holding a scotch in his hand; he was distressed by memories of this person.
Long ago Brian lived crossed seas. He had a beautiful wife and a handsome son. The three of them lived in a small cottage by the sea. Day after day he would go out to his job to design clothes that duelists could wear. Yes, people who played duel monsters couldn’t wear normal clothes. These clothes had to have spots on the wrists where duel disks could fit and many of the outfits were based off of classic duelists, such as Yugi’s blue school uniform, Seto’s large trench coat, even Davaku wore attire created by Brian.
One day Brian’s wife disappeared. He and his son had no idea where she was, until his boss was found guilty of statutory rape and murder of several different victims. Brian’s wife was one of them. This drove Brian insane; he killed his employer, and was sought after by the cops. As he fled his son was shot down. It was an unfortunate occasion. It should have been him and not his child. “Ben Emily…” Brian gazed at the portrait back in present time. He placed his duel disk on his wrist and shuffled his deck in a very poker fashion. He was going to take his revenge on the world; he had begun years ago by leading the Dark World gang to domination in Domino city.
A knock was heard at his door, he answered it and it was the girl with meshed brown hair, who stood by his side after Mic had defeated him “Are you okay Brian?” she asked in a light tone.
“What is it?” he got straight to the point wondering what she wanted.
She frowned a bit “the leader of the D.D. gang is here, he’s curious about that Rainbow dragon fella, should I let him in?”
With a quick shake of his head Brian closed the door a bit “tell him I’m out…” He paused, then the girl interrupted him.
“What are you going to do?”
“Nothing, be gone Sam, I have no more to say to you” he slammed the door in her face and went back in. The girl Sam was confused by his recent attitude, but she went to inform the boss of the D.D. gang that everything was fine. Brian stepped out the back door, he was thinking of what Mic had told him yesterday.
“Go to the mayor’s office and kill him that will surely lead out my own enemies” Mic had said.
Brian did not quite understand him “what purpose will that serve, leaving me all by my lonesome…”
Mic grinned turning to him “alone? You have Rainbow Dragon now, you will never be alone” he knew Rainbow dragon was the strongest card that most duelists had ever seen, with this Brian had agreed.
“I will become the new law in this city” Brian looked at his duel disk, then and now as he walked in the shadow of night to his transportation, a black Cadillac. He got in and left his home behind, heading for his destination.
At the dinner, John and Travis had finished serving the team. Davaku was pleased to have John create such a wonderful meal, that he promised him a chance in the D-force. John was very appreciative of this, he had wanted to duel Tomasa for some time.
Sitting back in her chair, stroking her full tummy Tomasa yawned “let’s duel in the morning, it’s late now…”
“Thank you Ms. Derru, you will not be disappointed by our duel” he bowed to her, helping her out of her chair.
Andy who had hit the bottle like usual was already passed out in a large comfy chair, he had been watching the card game channel, a branch of the ESPN because dueling was an official sport now. Travis threw a blanket on Andy so that he wouldn’t catch a cold. Tomasa went to her room to sleep. Davaku had other thoughts on his mind.
“Come Shinoda, you and I are going to develop a strategy for cleaning Domino up” the two went to the Davaku cave, aka the underground computer center beneath D-force HQ. It was similar to the underground command center of Davaku’s own home.
In the lab John brought a picture of Brian Daeioun to the screen “this is commander of the Dark world gang, if we take him down then, well you know.”
Davaku smirked “without a boss they will panic, driving the rest of them for local police to take down, very well. He is our primary target.”
A small nod from Shinoda “only problem is finding him, he is in the depths of Domino, he has many of local authorities under his payroll too.”
“Lucky we’re not local” Davaku grinned.
Mic was about as well. He was on the unconstructed roof of the building. His eyes as colorful as they were gazed to the mayor’s office, knowing within a few hours he would be taken down.
In bed Tomasa stared at the ceiling with thoughts of the future. She figured fighting criminals may be easier than fighting a dragon, but it still would be difficult. As her eyes closed she felt the power of sleep overcome her. There in her dreams she saw Rainbow dragon once again, but he was falling apart and changing into a darker creature. “What’s happening?” Tomasa spoke, but her words were very calm and quiet. The dragon opened its massive jaws, collecting Tomasa up.
This did not kill her, she still lived, inside the belly of the monster she saw Mic he was looking down at his duel disk. His eyes were sad, he looked up to Tomasa. She saw a plea of pain in his eyes. Then his chest began to pop and outburst a small Rainbow dragon, it blasted Tomasa, sending her through a vortex, which she saw her, and Davaku with their duel disks activated, but they were next to each other. As she saw this her eyes became the first person and she was standing next to Davaku. They were tag dueling a large dark shadow which turned into a rainbow, with glaring eyes at them.
Tomasa sprung up it was now morning. The many folds of her princess like bed let only piercings of sunlight through her view. Travis had brought breakfast in for her, it a was a tray with French toast, scrambled eggs, apple sausage and orange juice “ohh, my favorite!” Tomasa smiled happily bowing to Travis.
“Well I thought I’d wake you up, it is noon after all” Travis smiled he then looked up at her “you should give your regards to the chef, he prepared this dish, and John did.” He smiled at her.
She stretched “eager to duel is he?”
“At the top of your game, I’d say” He spoke quite respectfully sitting up, leaving her to eat. Moments later she burst out of her room with the duel disk on. Travis brought her to the dueling arena where she met up with John. Both players activated their duel disks. An announcer came to the field with a microphone; the duel was going to be broadcasted, so that the D-force would have its sporting alibi.
“In this corner we have the reigning champ, who has yet been undefeated and is leader of the powerful D-force duel squad Tomasa Derru!” The announcer spoke his hand waving Tomasa, who was swaying her arms and blowing kisses to several fans. “And in this corner, the master of Exodus the all powerful duelist John Ainshints!” A few fans knew of John’s dueling skills, and they cheered for him as well. “If John can bring Tomasa down to 2000 life points, he’s officially part of D-force, if he wins, he outranks her!”
John was wearing his green polo striped shirt and had his very George Lucas-ish beard. Tomasa was wearing her duel gear, which consisted of her black silk gloves, black sleeveless shirt and dark khaki pants. The duel began. John allowed Tomasa to have the first move since she was the female.
:Tomasa:4000LP: I begin by activating my Polymerization card, I’ll use it to fuse Elemental Hero Avian and Elemental Hero Bursty to create Elemental Hero Flamewingman! 2100/1200
The announcer commented “A classic Tomasa opener by the stunning female duelist, how will John combat this all powerful fusion card!” as Tomasa’s powerful Elemental hero took it’s commanding presence on the field.
:John:4000LP: I’ll begin by activating the Dark Door spell card, which will allow each player to attack with one monster every turn. Then I place one monster in defensive mode and end my turn.
:Tomasa:4000LP: One attack per turn doesn’t stop me, because Flamewingman has a special ability, so I attack your monster!
Flamewingman flew from Tomasa’s side of the field and struck John’s face down monster which was called Dark Mimic level 1. John drew an extra card because of his monsters flip effect. (Flip effect is whenever a monster is either changed from face down defense position to attack position or is flipped face up by an attack or card effect.)
:Tomasa:4000LP: Since your monster had 100 attack points flamewingman does that damage to you!
:John:3900LP: No sweat, now I place a new monster in face down defense position
Tomasa attacked with her Flamewingman, but this time the attack was unsuccessful, because John’s face down monster was Soul Tiger. 0/2100 Tomasa placed a card face down and ended her turn. John drew a card and placed one card face down in his spell and trap card zone, ending his turn.
:Tomasa:4000LP: Time for a little action to be taken, I activate my face down trap card Hero blast which lets me take Elemental hero Bursty from my graveyard and add her to my hand. Now I can destroy any monster with less attack than her!
Hero blast destroyed John’s soul tiger leaving him open to Tomasa’s Flamewingman who attacked him directly. Tomasa ended her turn, this duel had been going so well for her.
:John:1800LP: I activate my face down Legacy of Yata Garasu which allows me to draw again.
:Tomasa frowned:4000LP: Come on, all you have been doing is drawing and defender, bring on an attack!
:John:1800LP: Patience now that is what winning takes. I send the two monsters from my graveyard to my deck to summon Exodius the ultimate Forbidden lord in attack mode ?/0
:Tomasa:4000LP: Exodia?!
The mighty monster looked like the powerful Egyptian, wearing golden armor and his black face showed a great deal of anger. This is one of the card’s John was waiting for. The announcer claimed Exodia was looming over this duel.
:John shook his head:1800LP: Exodius, he is what shall bring Exodia upon you, for you see he has great strength and with his effect he gains 1000 attack points for every normal monster card I place in my graveyard. I add another monster to my field known as Card Trooper 400/400
A small robot wheeled over underneath Exodius, it held three cards, which were the top three cards of John’s deck. “When card trooper discards three cards from the top of my deck his power is raised by 500 per card, bringing him to 1900.” John peered at the other cards sent to the graveyard. They were Queen’s Knight, Soul Tiger and Dark Mimic lvl 3. Exodius’s attack increased to 2000 for Soul Tiger and Queen’s knight being in his graveyard. John then attacked with Exodius which sent another card from his deck to his graveyard and he chose the left arm of Exodia. Tomasa’s Flamewingman was devastated by the 3000 attack strength boasted by Exodius and her monster was slammed into the ground, destroyed.
:John:1800LP: Now you see how powerful it is, sadly I could only attack once, my turn is finished.
:Tomasa smiled:3100LP:Not bad, but now I summon Elemental hero Sparky and play Miracle Fusion, combining him and Flamewingman from my graveyard together to create Elemental Hero Shining Flarewingman! 2500/2100
Amongst the audience Mr. Takahashi was eating a hot dog enjoying the duel, he was hoping to see Tomasa’s Yubel card in play, so he could get a better grasp of it. Davaku peered over on his computer the televised duel, even though he could walk five feet to watch it, his work was too extensive. He was finding out which officers could be paid up by the mob, so he could eliminate all corruption. Tomasa’s Flarewingman sparkled as it gained 300 attack points for Elemental hero Avian being in the graveyard.
:Tomasa:3100LP: You left your card Trooper out there which was a big mistake! I attack with Shining flarewingman!
A quick attack and card trooper was destroyed, along with all of John’s life points. Tomasa had more fans by the increment of falling life points. She walked over to John and winked whispering “you can join anyways.” Held her hand out, looking up to him, shaking his own hand. John bowed in respect and Tomasa grinned “you just gotta cook more food for us, it’s super good!”
Mean while at the mayor’s house an officer was on guard duty. It was the same officer the mayor had been angry at for not doing his job correctly. He sighed his blue eyes looking down on his duel disk “this is a sad day when the chief is placed on security duty…” He spoke a loud.
“Not as sad as when the chief is completely stormed by head of the mob” a familiar voice was heard, it was the English accent of Brian Daeioun.
“Came to turn yourself in have you?” The cop grinned.
Brian activated his duel disk “not quite.”
Two other cops stood beside Lombardi, the head officer activating their duel disks as well. “Crime doesn’t pay and you don’t stand a chance against Domino city police!” The police had stun duel disks, which were given out by Davaku’s company for this purpose, while Brian had his own military duel disk.
:Brian:4000LP: We’ll see about that, I summon Brron King of dark world in attack mode 1800/400 I place two cards face down and call it a move.
:Cop 1:4000LP: I summon Cycroid in attack mode and set three cards face down 800/1000
:Cop 2:4000LP I sacrifice Cycroid for Rescueroid and set three cards face down 1600/1800
The small bicycle cartoon monster turned into a cartoon ambulance. It was now Lombardi’s turn.
:Lombardi:4000LP: I summon Patroid in attack mode 1200/1200 and his Siren allows him to see one of your face down cards.
Patroid, the cartoon police cruiser’s sirens went off and it drove over to Brian’s side of the field and revealed one of his face down cards to be Kunai with chain, a trap card that would increase one of Brian’s monsters attack by 500 points.
:Lombardi:4000LP: That’s a good card, so I’ll play the card Heavy storm which destroys all spell and trap cards on the field!
:Brian:4000LP: You’d think so wouldn’t you? But I’m instituting a pay off deal a Dark deal
Brian’s face down trap card subtracting 1000 of his life points as payment to activate it, but it changed Heavy storm’s destruction capability into a hand destroying card. Lombardi picked one of Brian’s cards in his hand, which only helped him.
:Brian:3000LP: Whenever I lose a monster from my hand you should know it only helps me. And you discarded my Goldd Wu-lord of Dark world 2300/1400
A frightful beast covered in golden armor, carrying and axe was summoned to Brian’s side of the field. Brian then used it’s special ability to destroy both Rescueroid and Patroid, leaving the police officers with nothing to defend themselves with.
:Brian:3000LP: Ashamed this duel couldn’t last longer, I summon Zure Knight of Dark world 1800/1500
The mighty Zure joined the ranks of Brian’s field. The officers knew one of them were about to lose the duel, but Brian had sights on both of them “Your force isn’t as loyal as you thought, because I’m going to make further dealings with them, I play the spell Deal of darkworld, now every player discards one card from their hand to draw a new one!”
All of the cops and Brian discarded one card, which meant Brian was able to summon another Dark world monster “meet Sillva warlord of dark world.” 2300/1400 This monster was as powerful as gold and even sported very similar armor. The police force now had to deal with four dark world monsters.
:Brian drawing with a slight smirk:3000LP: My king will lead his men into battle and attack, he will joined by Goldd, Zure and Sillva will eliminate my other opponent.
Brron and Goldd brought one of the officer’s life points down to zero. He fell over motionless. Zure and Sillva destroyed the other cop, the military duel disk draining his life away. Lombardi was left alone with the powerful force, but he was now about to give up. Brian placed one card face down.
:Lombardi frowning:4000LP: Those two were useless anyways, now it’s my move! I play power bond which will fuse Drillroid, Steamroid and submarineroid from my hand to create Super Vehicroid Jumbo drill! 3000/2000
The effect of powerbond doubled Lombardi’s monster attack points bringing it to 6000, stronger than any monster Brian had on his field.
:Lombardi:4000LP: Time to take scum like you off of the street with one attack!
The large monster with it’s very cartoonish eyes and overly sized drill began making it’s way toward Brian’s unfortunately it hit a pedestrian. “What the?!” Lombardi shouted in anger, his Jumbo drill had hit a scarecrow.
:Brian:3000LP: My scrap iron scare crow is enough to stop your beast, so I guess your turn must end.
:Lombardi:4000LP: Damn you…
Lombardi was hit with 3000 points of damage because of his powerbond card. His arms flailed to his sides as he screamed in pain. The mayor heard this and saw what was going on outside “oh no, my best cops are down…” quickly the mayor called the D-force tower, he needed them to get their immediately.
“We’re on our way” Davaku smirked, the news that Brian had surface saved him time. He stood up stretching and went out to the duel arena where Tomasa had just dueled against John “it’s time to go to work.”
Tomasa nodded “is Mic or Andy coming?”
Davaku shook his head, he knew him and Tomasa would be enough, plus Andy was suffering with a major hang over. Tomasa and Davaku quickly took the fastest way to the mayor’s office which was by chopper. Mayor Jameson sighed watching his best man fall to Brian.
:Lombardi growled standing up:1000LP: I’m not down yet…
:Brian drew:3000LP: You might as well be, let’s see now… I don’t exactly like my hand so I’ll discard it by playing Card Destruction
Since Brian was the only one with a hand he discarded it and drew new cards. Brian drew the mighty Rainbow dragon, he grinned, yet having a way to summon it of course, he placed all of his monsters in defense position ending his turn.
:Lombardi drew:1000LP: I guess you accomplished nothing with that turn
:Brian shook his head:3000LP: More than you’ll accomplish with this turn I imagine.
:Lombardi grinned:1000LP: I attack with Jumbo drill!
:Brian:3000LP: Don’t quite learn do we? When you attack I activate my Scrap Iron scarecrow yet again, you see it really doesn’t go away!
Jumbo drill’s attack was once again prevented by the stop in the road. Lombardi placed a card face down, hoping to get more of an opportunity to survive.
:Brian:3000LP: All of these monsters and I can’t bypass your bloody Super Drill, so be it then, I call it a move.
:Lombardi:1000LP: I’m really sick of your doing nothing!
:Brian:3000LP: Annoying isn’t it, just because you can’t get me!
Lombardi had a way to protect himself and his monster “you may think you’ve got me with your annoying little card, but you can’t beat me, so I’ll end my move.” He placed one face down before he finished.
:Brian:3000LP: Do you think there is no monster in this game beyond 6000 attack points? Wait and see, I play the spell card Dark Hole which eliminates all monsters on the field!
:Lombardi:1000LP: I’ll save my monster with Interdimensional matter transporter!
Vehicroid disappeared as Brian’s Dark Hole card only destroyed his own monsters.
:Brian frowned:3000LP: He won’t be back until this turn is done, so now I summon the Dark Creator! 2300/3000
:Lombardi:1000LP: How can you summon that card without a tribute, he’s too powerful!
A swarm of darkness engulfed the field as Dark creator was summoned. He was a solider draped in layers of black armor, he also had wings. His arms glowed as he began his attack. The dark creator’s hands created a bolt of dark light as it blasted the remains of Lombardi’s life points however he activated the card that would save him “I play Emergency provisions, this will increase my life points for every spell or trap card I sacrifice times 1000.”
“So you intend to use your seemingly worthless cards your lackies left behind to save you, clever…” Brian only smirked watching Lombardi’s life points recover by 6000. He then took The dark creator’s hit. Brian ended his turn. Jumbo drillroid returned, but since it was removed from the field temporarily it’s attack points returned to 3000, still it was a formidable monster.
:Lombardi:4700LP: Time to destroy you! I play Bait Doll which will force the activation of your annoying scarecrow and destroy it!
A tiny doll walked over from Lombardi’s side of the field and it teased Brian’s face down trap card. The iron scarecrow came out and snagged the Bait doll which returned to Brian’s deck.
:Lombardi:4700LP: Now that that’s out of the way I’ll destroy your creator with my Jumbo drillroid!
:Brian:3000LP: Forgot about my face down did you? Kunai with Chain it will increase my Dark Creator’s attack by 500 and place your Jumboroid in defensive position, and with merely 2000 defense points, my Dark creator destroys it!
Jumboroid had it’s drill in decommission before the dark creator attacked. The monster was blasted away by Brian’s powerful dark monster. Lombardi drew, grinning proudly “Too bad my monster’s just keep coming back! I play Premature Burial to resurrect my Jumbo Drill! In the same paragraph that it was destroyed Vehicroid Jumbo drill returned to the field. 3000/2000
:Lombardi grinned:3900LP: Didn’t expect that did you! Now I attack your Dark Creator, with my first actual successful attack!
Jumbodrill’s massive drill pierced the dark creator’s armor, destroying it. Brian was damaged by 200 life points he drew his final card grinning.
:Brian:2800LP: Now is the moment where you suffer true power… I remove from play seven of my dark monsters from the graveyard to call out my mighty Rainbow Dark dragon! 4000/0
All of Brian’s dark world monsters and Dark creator were removed from his graveyard and out came a massive black dragon. Rainbow dark dragon roared loudly as it slithered into the air, it’s black armor so radiant that it almost looked white. The wings of the beast flapped so hard that it swept Lombardi away.
:Lombardi:3900LP: What is that!?
:Brian had an evil grin:2800LP: Your demise! Attack with Dark lightning!
The dark Rainbow dragon’s massive jaws opened it shot out what would appear to be a rainbow made up of darker colors, then a blast following which annihilated Lombardi’s Super drill, but didn’t finish him off. Lombardi gasped as he lost life points drawing. He placed his monster in defensive position, but it wouldn’t be enough. Brian activated the spell card Dark world lightning which destroyed Lombardi’s defense, now he was left with the terrifying Rainbow dark dragon staring him down.
:Brian:2800LP: At last there shall be vengeance!
Rainbow dark dragon blasted the remainder of Lombardi’s life points. The fallen officer lay motionless on the ground. A far from a helicopter Tomasa pointed out the dark dragon to Davaku “I can’t believe me eyes…”
“Rainbow dragon…” Davaku frowned, they thought the monster was completely destroyed. The helicopter landed by the evacuated mayors office, which suffered damage from the duel. Their Brian stood with his devilish grin.
“What have you done?” Tomasa ran over seeing the unconscious police officers. Davaku slowly walked over.
“Pathetic cops shouldn’t do our job, time for us to duel!” Davaku almost blamed the cops for their own mess, while he brought his duel disk out.
“My opponent shall be Tomasa” Brian had his commands from Mic to take her out when she arrived.
Tomasa frowned activating her duel disk instead “they gave their lives for the mayor, there is nothing pathetic about it!” She walked over to Brian, who had his duel disk prepared “Very well, I’ll duel you.”
:Brian:4000LP: Ah, you are the one I wished to duel
:Tomasa grinned:4000LP: Now that I’m back at full health, I’m ready to kick butt
“Be careful, his name is Brian Daeioun, leader of the Dark world gang” Davaku warned Tomasa.
:Tomasa:4000LP: His name needs less vowels, who cares who he is, just another opponent, I’m more concerned about that dragon.
Brian grinned showing Tomasa the Rainbow Dark Dragon card which was already in his opening hand “you mean this one?” He laughed slightly “I’m sure you will learn about it very soon…” The duel was Tomasa Vs. Brian. Brian doing the mission he was sent from Mic. He had no desire for revenge against the female duelist, seeing how he pledged his crime against cops. Tomasa however wanted to duel for the Rainbow dragon, she could feel it’s sorrow.

D-Force World Notes
Mayor Jameson
Is as angry as J.J. Jameson from Spiderman. He wants the best for his city although he is mostly a tool for money and cash or will do whatever the government says. He still has good intentions, but is cruel to his staff.
Officer Lombardi
Based off of a real police officer, while in Yu-Gi-Oh! GT Lombardi had a very small cameo arresting Matt, (history repeated itself last chapter) He was also given a stronger role as the cop who wouldn’t give up. The police in domino all use standard Roid decks combined with powerful cards.
D-Force HQ
Is immense in size with well over a hundred rooms thus far. Japanese construction workers work fast, after all you never know when the next Godzilla or Rainbow Dragon attack will be. So far the rooms consist of a separate quarter for every member of the D-force, Davaku’s computer lab, Shinoda’s private library, The kitchen, The dining room, the duel arena, the secret duel arena, the lounge, the bar, the military room which is where duel disks and other technologies is kept and many, many other rooms to be included.
