Check back to the Special Chapter for more details on Sarah Jennifer Williams Connelly. She's so cute.
I consulted my astrology books with Flotsam, brewed special potions wtih Jetsam, and trained in swordfighting with Mat. (If I was going to take on the man both Melissa and I loved, I would have to be prepared.)
As long as I was biding my time, I figured I'd do something for myself. A new addition came into my family on the day I brought Sarah Jennifer Williams Connelly home; Flotsam was jealous but Jetsam took an immediate shine to her.
Flotsam pulled me aside one day after I had put Sarah down for a nap. "She's distracting you from your true aim," he said, pinning me against the wall. "Melissa's been missing for two weeks now. I figured you would at least be a little worried about her, but you go around as if it never even happened. I'm ashamed to call you my master; I should have died back then instead of living to see such disgraceful conduct."
He turned away and dove into the pool. I felt like punching him. I was busting my butt trying to find Melissa, but I had to admit that Sarah had taken up a lot of my time. 'I can't do this alone,' I thought. 'I need help.'
The next day, Mat came over to see me. "Me and the boys are going out for a few hours. I would have asked someone else to babysit Sarah, but you're the only real friend I can trust these days."
"I was coming over to see her anyway," Mat said. I had been chatting with him all through the week about how great Sarah was, so it was only natural he'd be curious. "It's nice to know you trust me so deeply, but my talents are better suited to fighting, not babysitting some brat."
"Hey! That brat is my adoptive daughter! Think about protecting Melissa; Sarah's about as dear to me as she is."
Mat went up to my room without another word. I spoke my magic bubble spell: "Water, fire, earth, and air, make a magic bubble there. For me and my boys wish to go to the mysterious fathoms below." Green light flashed and thunder rumbled as the boys and I were enveloped in a magic bubble.
(I invented this spell to make it so air-breathers could come down to my underwater realm. Normally, we wouldn't need the spell since we all can breathe underwater already. But where we were going, we would need it's stink-barrier abilities.)
We surfaced in the Bog of Stench, just what I had aimed for. whee smile "Walk forward," I told them. "Once we reach the Goblin City, I'll release the spell."
After much grumbling and groaning, on Flotsam's part, we reached the Goblin City. "Phew!" said Jetsam, holding his nose. "Hopefully we never go through that stinky place together ever again."
"Agreed," I said. "From here on, I must lead. The king does not take kindly to strangers."
We walked into the throne room, Flet on my right side, Jet on my left. His Majesty was nowhere in sight. "Out here," a voice called from the terrace.
I went to the windows and saw Jareth staring out at his kingdom. "Oh Lelouch. What have you done?" I heard him murmur so softly only I heard it."
"Your Majesty," I called, curtseying politely as he turned around.
"Oh, it's you Ana. There's no need for formality."
"But there is. I have brought some new aquaintences and they wish to make yours."
"What do you mean?"
I pulled back the curtains behind me to reveal Flet and Jet on their knees, in their respective positions to my right and left sides. "Oh those two," he said, unamused. "Yes, I've heard a great deal about them. Banished from Ursula for failing to ensure Melissa did not get her kiss."
Uh-oh! What else did he know? "It seems you know more than I realized," I said, voicing my thoughts. "You must know about Melissa's kidnapping I suppose."
"Yes actually. I must speak with you alone about this. It is a family matter."
I looked to my boys, asking with my eyes if they could come. (They might not be much of a family, but their still mine! crying 3nodding ) Jareth shook his head. I shrugged, apologizing to them without words, and walked away with him to his study.
Sorry to stop here but I can't remember anymore. Plus, Flotsam just set my sheets on fire, again. Ugh! Will he ever learn to control his fire spells?! I should never have taught him that. stressed
