“A-A queen? Of, pirates???”
“Yes…”
“But… Why- Why me?!”
“You’re his heir!”
“Who?!?!?! I’m who’s heir?!”
At that moment, I lost the picture of the strangers face, his arms dissappeared from my body and I felt cold. His deep voice faded into the background of my alarm. And like so many times before… I lost it; my dream was gone in an instant. I awoke in a start; I felt the cool sweat that ran down my forehead.
I turned off my alarm and got dressed, running downstairs and eating a quick breakfast, scince my mom and dad were out of town they hadn't made sure I had woken up. I ran out the door and to the bus to get to school. I got in my seat in first period choir just in time for the bell. I sat next to my friend Lily. Mrs. B. started talking and warming up. I passed notes with Lily most class though. And as the bell rang for the end of the period, I knew Lily understood what I had seen in my dream.
“Again?! That dream again?!?!” She exclaimed, walking with me to our classes.
“Yup… and the cycles are the same.” I replied, stareing straight ahead at the person walking in front of us.
“It’s Monday… let me guess…Deep voice, fur coat.”
“Yup… him.”
“He weirds me out…”
“I don’t know… he’s definitely the most interesting…”
“Really??? You’ll have to show me some time…”
“At lunch…K’?”
“K.”
Three periods later in PE… it was still a normal day… stretching. Suddenly, it felt like an earthquake was somewhere, and we could feel the jist of the shaking… Our teachers brought us back into the locker rooms to get dressed… we all did and started to file out… one by one, mabey in small groups, we came out, and once there were most of us in the gym, a large, mechanical pirate ship crashed through the roof, schreams rang through what was left of the gym. Soon, there he stood, the man that had been in my dream…
“This is Mei Ikura’s class right???” he asked.
“Why?” replied my teacher.
“Is it or not?!”
“Why do you need to know?!” I replied
“You Mei?”
“Maybe…”
“Well are ya or not?”
“Why’s it any a yur business???”
“We’re lookin for a teenager named Mei.”
“Well that’s who I am… and you are???”
“Zegram… monster hunter.”
“Yur a what?!”
“Monster hunter…”
“Uh… sure… why have you been lookin fur me?!”
“You’re not getting it are you??? We’ve sent you all those dreams and you stil can’t get it???”
“You sent them??? Well I knew you were in them but… you SENT them???”
“Well… Steve did…but yea…we sent em…”
“That’s creepy…but you want me to what???”
“Come with us to be queen of the pirates because you’re our Captain’s heir…”
“Your captain?!”
“Are you FINALLY getting it?!”
“You wear a stupid jacket…” I started into their ship but I turned around…” Coming Lily???”
“Huh?!” she said, she followed me into the ship…
“Wait…I got an idea…” I walked back out and to all of my friends’ classes… I brought them all back, we all went onto the ship… “Alright…Let’s go crew!!!” I called out to the ship and we took off…
“Where to Captain???” Asked a robot at the controls saluting to me…
“Vedan…I’ve always wanted to go there!!!” I said excitedly.
“Vedan it is then…” He started to steer the ship…
“Then your hometown Steve…Then to Zerard!!!” I said still looking at the robot.
“You know who I am then?!”
“Only some of you…”
“Like who???” said the man in the coat from before…
“You’re Zegram…The stubborn b*****d who betrayed his only friends because he’s a complete idiot who once believed people could be brought back to life…”
“Why you little!!!”
I ignored him and looked at a dog person…”You’re Deego…we’re going to your hometown…I’m sorry about Gale…he was a really nice person…I liked him…I’ll kill that kid when I see him!”
“Thank you…”
I looked at a small blue man that looked like a mini dinosaur…”Jupis…you’re a scientist…I feel so bad for you…the whole Tony thing…he’s such a nice person…so are you…you’re both great to work together…”
“Thank you young lady…”
“And…hm??? Where’s Jaster, Kisala and Lilika…and Simon’s missing too… is this all that’s left???”
“Afraid so…Jaster’s back on Rosa… Kisala’s on Marriglen, Lilika’s back on Juraika…and Simon’s with his family on Zerard…” replied Zegram.
“Can we see Simon please??? I wanna meet him…I like him…he’s the one with all the guns!” I laughed a bit.
Jupis smiled at me and I smiled back but then we started to shake, the whole ship was under attack. We all ran out on the deck and found space Manta rays… We all hid, except those four…Steve, Zegram, Jupis and Deego went to fight… I saw one of Simon’s rocket launchers a bit away from me… I ran and grabbed it, I aimed it wildly in the air and hit one, it went down and was KOed… Eveyone looked at me, and Zegram took down the second one. I just stared at the launcher for a minute, and everyone else stared at me.
“Oops…”
“That was genious Mei…”Said Zegram walking past me, he ruffled my hair a bit and I got up, following him angrily.
Everyone stared after us for a while before coming in to find me at the wheel, I had on a short dress.
“You all awake yet???” I asked looking at them…”We’re almost there…”
“What??? You drove?!” exclaimed Steve…
“Yup…for that whole time…no one’s help…” said Zegram, putting a hand on my shoulder.
I smiled a bit. I sighed and looked at Vedan… I landed perfectly, though I had never done it before, everyone congradulated me and I left the ship after finding one of Simon’s guns, one of Jaster’s swords and one of Kisala’s dagger sets. I went to find that kid… Deego followed me and so did my friends. I looked around and eventually found him…I walked up to him…
“Hi…” I said.
“H-h- hello…” he stuttered
“You’re that ex-leader’s son right??? You killed Gale???”
“A-and if I am???”
“Are you???”
“I-I a-am…”
“Well then…” I shot him in the head…”Never do that to one of my fav characters!”
Everyone winced and I went to the orphan’s home…I looked around for a bit, I went to the trash and looked for a bit, soon I found a crystal that looked like a human heart. I picked it up and left, but I gave the kids some money. Everyone followed like dogs, I went and fought the boss monsters there… got all the items I wanted and went back to the ship, we went to Zerard, as planned. I got out and looked around at the busy planet, only three of my friends went with me, and Zegram and Steve tagged along.
“So…Where’re we goin Mei-chan???” asked my friend Jack.
“To meet someone named Simon…I hope he doesn’t mind that I used his guns…”
“Oh…So where is this anyway Mei???” Asked Lily.
“We are on the capital planet Zerard…in the Wilherser system… It’s from a video game…” I said as I started to follow Steve.
“Oh…Wait what???”
“Nevermind…Is this it???”
“Yup…” said Zegram…
I knocked on the door.
Soon, a short, stout man answered the door and looked up at me," May I help you?" He asked and I held back a small giggle from his accent.
"Hello, I'm Mei Ikura. You're Simon right?" I asked innocently.
"I was, is there any specific reason you've come here?"
I handed him the rocket Launcher and the Gun, "here, these are yours right? Sorry, I had to use it, we were under atack, I'm very sorry you aren't part of our crew anymore, I really wish I'd gotten the chance to work with you," I said, bowing low as he took the weapons.
"Um, thank you? What're you talking about?" He asked.
"She's the new captain, a girl from Earth, be surprised, she can already pilot the ship!" Zegram exclaimed.
"This young thing?!?!?! Doing all of that?!Well you seem very accomplished young lady!" He replied, smiling brightyly at me.
"Thank you very much,"I replied with a shy smile.
"This young lady's already taken revenge for Gale, and defeated one of the space mantas on her own, she's very powerul indeed, she used that rocket Launcher, it was as if she was an expert in battle!" Steve stated in excitement.
I smiled, a slight pink running over my face.
"Well then, maybe you should keep it miss! It'd do me a great honor for the new captain of my old crew to use weapons I once owned," He smiled and handed me the gun and launcher again.
"Oh no... I couldn't...please, I'll do my best to bring our crew as much credit and money as possible, but I'd like to do it on my own. Thank you for your concern though," I bowed gratefully but he merely shook his head and walked iside, motioning for us all to follow, we did and Lily, Jack, Kat, and I were amazed by how amazing the house looked.
Soon, Simon approched us again with a tall woman and a small child.
"young miss, this is Miyoko, my wife," The woman noded and bowed politely," And Chie, my daughter," The little girl did the same with a big smile on her face.
"I know who they are," I bowed in return, so did the rest that I had brought," It's an honor to meet the both of you, my name is Mei Ikura."
"It is nice to meet you miss Ikura, you seem like a very capable captain," Said Miyoko, smiling at me softly.
"Yea!!! You're gonna be a GREAT leader!" Chie jumped up and down as I laughed a little.
"So, Gonna? I already am their leader, and I'm gonna do the BEST job I can!" I replied happily.
"Well, I was thinking, maybe we could all go with you, if you wouldn't mind?" Simon asked,obviously a little nervous about the idea.
I looked excited," YES!!! To have you back in our crew, anything! Miyoko and Chie will be a pleasure to have around too!"
"YAYYAYYAY!!!" Chie yelled with excitement.
I giggled a little, Steve even seemed happy and all my friends seemed a little weirded out. I laughed harder when Chie and her father started to dance around together in excitement, then I looked to see Miyoko with a surprised smile at them and smied, knowing Simon(or Cho as he's known here) hadn't been extremely happy since he left the crew, even though he had missed his wife and daughter. I knew everyone would be happy to see one another again, but everyone seemed older now then in the game, so I started to walk back outside and everyone followed, I looked around for the towers. When I saw them I ran foreward to them, getting worried looks from everyone. I kept running foreward, but stopped and ran a different way, still as enthusiastic. I tried to keep myself calm as I came up on the Dayton Factory. I smiled at I looked around on the inside, looking back at Steve, I could've sworn he would be smiling if he could. I skipped around with my friends behind me, and Zegram seemed to look away and blush everytime I looked back at him and the others. Jack and Kat seemed interested in everything that was going on, so I decided to just let them stay with some of the scientists. I kept going with Lily, Zegram and Steve.Once we got to a small door very far into the lab (and after fighting a lot of monsters) I hesetantly opened the door.
"Hello?" I called quietly.
"Oh, hello, comein, comein!" said a hurried voice from a smaller office.
"Oh, thank you. Is this Doctor Pocacchio's office?"
"It is, and I am him," he walked out of his office with a clumsy crash," I'm sorry I can't help you, I've seemed to have misplaced my glasses,do you think you could help me find them?" he said, feeling around.
"Um," I grabbed glasses from the table and walked over to him,"are these it?" I slipped them on his face gently.
"Huh??? Oh thank you young la-" he took a good look at me and stared in amazement.
"Hello Doctor, my name is Mei Ikura! I was wondering if I could ask you to take a look at our ship, if you wouldn't mind," I stood back a little and smiled.
"Oh, well of course young lady! I'd love to help you!" he smiled back.
"Thank you Dr. Pocacchio," said Steve.
The doctor looked over at Steve," Steve?!?!?! You know this beautiful young lady, you lucky dog!" he smirked.
"I know her, only because she is our new captain Doctor, we just went to get her, she's very skilled, and she seemed very intent to come here."
"I was!" I ensured," I know so little about all this technology, but only wish I could know it all, and Steve's just a pure work of art! You must be a GENIOUS!!!"
The doctor blushed a little, staring at me in awe," You know more then I thought you would my dear, you look like you're from the milky-way, nothing but those simple humans, and you know so much?!"
"I do, only because I'm still not entirely sure this isn't a dream, I'm so happy to be here! I mean, specifically here in this factory and generally in this galaxy. I beat the game so I know what happened at the end, but, Dorgengoa's dead...You seem older then him, and you aren't, I guess he just got to out of shape!" I laughed and smiled when everyone else laughed too even Steve allowed a slight laugh to escape.
"But, now, I'm not sure if the ship's up to tempo with me, so I'd like for you to see if it's alright, surely Jupis'll help, I need to see three more planets before I can be at rest, and I'd LOVE to see the ghost ship!!! But I doubt I'd have the chance in my life, I might live long enough to, and Desert Claw too!There's so much I want to see before settling anywhere, then I'd like to settle on Juraika! It seems so nice there! So I'm so excited to go! Please, if you could see if our ship's engine's are strong enough to withstand me?"
"For you young lady, of course!" all of them walked outside and Steve and Jupis helped, all explaining things to me as they looked over it.
Once they were done I gave the doctor a hug," Thank you so much! I'm SO glad we got the chance to meet! I'll be sure to have us all come visit often!"
"Thank you, I look foreward to seeing more of you and all your friends," he smiled kindly, returning my hug.
"Bye!" we all waved as he waved behind him and we saw another man that I recognised running toward us,"Hey, Jupis isn't that Tony?" I asked, tapping Jupis kindly.
When Jupis looked at Tony a happy look wrapped over his face.
"Miss! I'd very much like to join your crew! I'd like to be of some use in taking care of you if this vessle can hold one more!" He bowed to me as he came closer to us, still panting.
"REALLY?!?!?!?!?! OMG THAT'D BE GREAT!!!" Tony jumped when I yelled," You're name's Tony right?! It's SO great to meet you!"
"I-it's great to meet you too miss, and that is my name, you know me?"
"Not really, but I know you well enough to know you'll be a GREAT addition to our team!"
"TH-thank you, m-ma'am!" he stuttered with a smile on his face.
"Well let's not stand here! I'm hyper and excited to go! I have lots of new friends that I can't wait to spend time with!" I ran into the ship followed by everyone and when they found me at the wheel waiting, Zegram sent them to their work or to relax and came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my hips," So, where to now?"
"Home...to Rosa, Mariglen...then all I want is to settle down at home, no more fights, no more bad guys, I'm home and safe in bed, I can't beleive it's almost my twentieth birthday!" I called out.
"YOU?!?!?! Twenty??? No way, you've gotta be at most fifteen!"
"Me?! Fifteen? Not fot five years now! I started Rouge Galaxy when I was thirteen or twelve, I've been playing it off and on since then!"
"Wow, so you've taken the time to learn all of us by heart?"
"Yup, Especially you! You were such an interesting subject to me! I had a book that told me about the whole plot, you had seemed like a very strange and mean character, but alot like me, then I saw you betrayed everyone and got angry and stopped thinking of you as a character I should have anything to do with, when I heard what happened, I felt SO bad, that's why I'm here now, oh, and there's the fact that I LOVE the way you dress, old fassion Japanese, the awesom fur, JUST LIKE ME!" I huged him and kissed his cheek, then getting back to driving, I saw Rosa, a beautiful desert, just like my home in Nevada.
"Wow...it's like a light version of Mars!" Jack commented in awe.
I laughed," I guess it is! Never thought of it that way!"
Everyone laughed and smiled and Zegram still had his arms around my waist as I landed us on Rosa, I grabbed one of his hands and he let me go, I knew he didn't want anyone to know he and I wanted a relationship with eachother.And I hoped that all I had just told him made him feel a little closer to me. I walked off the ship, changing into a short, halter dress and no one followed me out.
"It's so hot out here!!! I LOVE IT! I can't beleive I'm actually on the planet Rosa...It seems so busy now, even though so much has happened here...but I guess some of that is better left unspoken for now," I walked on, taking a long road and then I saw the church," There it is, that's where I think Jaster should be...I wish, I could've helped...I didn't do anything because I couldn't...but now...poor Raul," I started walking to the church and then felt a hand take mine, turning I saw Jaster," Jaster...Jaster Rouge!" I was quiet and breathless.
"Hello, you must be the new captain of the Dorgenark? I got a call from Zegram about you, he seems fond of you, how surprising after his last girlfriend!" he laughed and pulled me into a hug.
"H-hi...h-he does? Uh...My name's Mei Ikura," I said a little confused, returning the hug.
"I know who you are and yes he does, you've grown my dear...I was the one who brought you to earth, after Dorgengoa, your father, died, we couldn't keep you, it's been SO long my dear!"
"Jaster??? Oh my...I WAS born out here!!! Come with us! Please! I want to get the crew together, if only for a moment, I need you, I want to go get Kisala after this, then to Juraika, where I'd like to live! Please! If only untill we see Lilika on Juraika! I want you to come with us!" I begged, digging my face into his chest, crying.
"Only if you answer me this, do you still love him? After knowing he's old enough to be your father...will you still love him?"
"Zegram?"
"Yes, Zegram..."
"I will, I do... I know much more about him then he thinks I do... I know alot about you too...but...I can't remember your father's name...I've only ever heard it once...please...tell me once more?"
"He's dead, don't think of him, please just take me as part of your crew, you were like a daughter to me!"
"Alright...father..."I hugged him tightly and pulled him slowly by the hand to the ship.
We reached the ship and he kissed my forehead, I walked back to the wheel and began to steer.
" You and Jaster? Weird pair," Zegram commented after talking to him.
"We aren't a pair, I'm like his daughter, I AM Dorgengoa's heir, his one true daughter," I smiled," You aren't jealous are you? You and I don't make a much better pair..."
"I know, but, I'm glad to hear I have you to myself, and yes, I was jealous, I just love you," he smiled,whispering in my ear," and I don't care who knows."
I blushed and looked at him, Jaster walked over and took the wheel," You're to distracted right now my dear, you go relax," Jaster smiled at me and I went into Dorgengoa's room and sat on his bed, hugging my knees close to my body, when a cat came up on the bed. I began petting it as tears wandered around my face and the cat purred on my lap.
" Why??? Why is all of this so complicated, I love him, but he's...I just can't!" I cried, hugging the cat," I'm so scared and confused! Please someone help me!"
"I might be able to help with that," I heard a gentle woman's voice coming closer to me, then when the girl put a hand on my shoulder I looked up to see Miyoko and Kisala.
"KISALA!?!?!?" I hugged her, crying.
"There, there, I'm here now little sister. It's ok, Jaster told me everything."
"Sister! I'm so confused!"
"There, there, it's alright for you to love him."
"Big sister?"
"You and him share feelings, he needs a girl like you now, mr.Zegram isn't as strong a man as he acts to be. All he needs is a woman, a kind girl like you, now, go tell him," Miyoko said gently.
I noded and all three of us walked outside where everyone crowded around, wondering what happened.
"Um, is Zegram around? I have something I think I should let him know."
"Down below, probably waiting for you to go see him," Jaster smiled.
"Lazy b*****d! How dare he waste my time like this!" I marched into the elevator to get downstairs.
When the doors opened I walked out and to one of the two bars down there," Hiya!"
"Hello miss!" said the bartender.
"Hi," came Zegram's voice.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed Zegram by the wrist and dragged him on deck to make sure no one could see us, and right there, I kissed him. He seemed stunned, and I was a little bit too. I broke apart from the kiss and walked over to the edge of the deck, biting my lip.
"What was that?!" he said, angrily whipping me around to face him after marching up to me.
"I-I'm sorry... I just," Tears welled up in my eyes.
He looked sad for a moment before grabbing me in a hug," I'm sorry,I mean, I just come up and tell you I love you, then yell at you for giving me what I want, I'm sorry," his voice was more gentle then I thought possible.
"Z-Zegram...I-I...I'm sorry...I-...I guess what I really want to say is...I love you back,"I stuttered quietly, returning the hug and burrying my face in the fur collar of his coat (which was hard because I'm alot shorter then he is!!!).
He seemed surprised and I could feel the gaze of the crew and my friends from the bridge. I rested on the fur, his strong arms around me, I stared into space, bringing my head from his jacket, with a little less emotion in my face now," They're watching, they want for us to kiss or something so they can 'Ooo' and 'Ahh' about it, that's why I dragged you right under the bridge to kiss you, Im sorry, I know you've been hurt, but... I'd very much like to be with you, at least as a friend, I care for you and always want you to remember that. You're a kind person and I can tell you've got alot of heartache still, from so much death in your life. I'm very sorry I did that, don't feel as if you owe me anything, and don't feel like you have to return feelings for me," I said simply, still staring out into space, with my arms around him.
"And if I want to return your feelings?" he whispered in my ear.
I jumped a little, stiffening then relaxing again," I guess you could if you wanted to return them, but I'm so much younger, and I'm not half as smart as most of you, and I'm Dorgengoa's daughter, and didn't ever know it untill I met Jaster, please, before you say anything stupid, please consider what you're saying," I leaned my head onto his chest.
"I have,I've thought about it since you appeared in my memories, for some reason, before you got the dreams about us, I had a dream about you, Mei, I was your father's dearest friend, I know he loved you and I know everything about you from birth, but, only while you stayed with us. I voulenteered to take you in as my own child, but Jaster thought I wouldn't be a very good father, he was right, and he knew this would happen, that you and I would have feelings for eachother, but, when I had the dream about your new life, I wanted to see you again, so when Dorgengoa died, I knew you were the logical choice to be our captain. I knew if I ever wanted to see you again, I had to get you to join us!" he held me closer and I just leaned on him more," I knew Steve could help, he happily agreed, knowing without you, we wouldn't be a crew anymore, and he missed you too, so did Jupis and Deego, that's why it was only the four of us to stay on the ship, we had to see you. Mei, you're one of the most important people in our lifes, we need you, as our Captain, and our friend," I looked up at him, remembering the dream, this was what it was like.
"This is it...this is how I saw it, even the background, everthing is the same," I said, looking up at him.
"I know...I wanted it this way, I wanted you to feel like you remembered. When you were a few days old, your father was alive, You loved it out here, with anyone, it was usually your father or me."
I smiled," I do remember now! You and my father were so much better to be around then anyone, I don't know why, but, then... when he died...I never saw these stars again," I dug my face in his chest again.
"Come on, let's go in, you must be cold in that dress," he grabbed my hand and led me inside.
I had to admit I was freezing out there, but it was just so wonderful to remember this! I didn't want to leave that spot, but I did. When we went inside everyone just stared attacking us with questions about what had we been talking about and then there was the 'Ooooo...you two are totally in LOVE!' comments and so I just was so tired of all of it. I don't exactly remember what happened after that, I felt a falling sensation and then, blackness. I'm guessing I passed out, no idea why. But when I woke up I was on Juraika three weeks later, I saw Miri and Lilika and Zegram all standing over me, well, Zegram and Lilika were asleep near me and Miri was replacing a cloth on my forehead.
"U-uh...Wh-what happened?"I sat up, holding my head.
"No one knows," said Miri in response," But it's good to know you're awake. I'll wake Zegram and my sister."
I layed back down and Miri woke both of them up, without hesitation I felt myself being lifted and arms wrap around me, though I had my eyes closed again," Mei!!! Thank god you're alright!!! We thought you were dead!"I heared a man's voice call, still not knowing who it was.
"Huh??? Who's there???" I opened my eyes to see an extremely large man holding me in his arms tenderly, hugging me," P-Papa??? Y-you're alive?!?!?!" I said weakly.
"Yes, it's me, you remember? After all this time you remember! Oh Mei,I'm so sorry I ever left you!" he held me tighter and I looked around sleepily to see Zegram smiling and Lilika smiling too, then my gaze went to my father's crying face.
I smiled and leaned on his shoulder, wrapping one arm around him and the other still gingerly on my stomache," Papa! It's so good to know you're alive!!!"
"Apparently he came here to Juraika and stayed pretty well hidden, he heared some Juraikan hunters talking about you two days ago and rushed over here to see you," Zegram said, stepping foreward.
"Wow...papa, thank you, you can be captain again if you want, heaven knows I'm not a very good one!" I laughed weakly and smiled.
"Not from what I've heard from everyone, seems you can already drive the ship, and you've killed so many monsters that you, by yourself, have made the Dorgenark's crew rich, and reenstated three members and recruited three new ones. That sounds very accomplished to me!" Lilika said.
"Zegram, is it true that Mei's done ALL that?!?!?!" My father turned to Zegram, me still in his arms.
"And she single handedly killed one of the Space Mantas! You're Daughter has big dreams Dorgengoa! She'll do whatever it takes to realize those dreams too!" Zegram noded, smiling proudly.
"I haven't done all that... I did kill a Space Manta, but only because I got lucky, I have NOT made ANYONE rich! AND Simon and Kisala and Jaster all joined of their own freewill, the same's with Miyoko, Chie and Tony! I haven't done anything that special!"
"That all sounds pretty special to me," said Dorgengoa, setting me to stand on the floor," It sounds as if you've become quite a good daughter, sister, friend, girlfriend and captain."
"G-girlfriend?!?!?!" I asked.
"Well you're Zegram's girl right??? Is surely seems that way!" Dorgengoa smiled.
I blushed and looked at Zegram who smiled at me," YOU said it didn't you?!?!?!" He noded and chuckled haughtilly.
"I think it's a great match myself!"Jaster said, walking into the room.
I continued to blush," Well I think it's a match made in hell... I can't beleive I ever said half the things I said...I'm going home...to Earth!" I marched out of the room with a surprised Jaster, a torn Dorgengoa, and a heartbroken Zegram. I went into Dorgengoa's room and looked around, the cat jumping into my lap again, when I noticed a baby cradel. Not only did I find that, I found a necklace with my name on it, so I put it on when Jaster came running in.
"MEI!!! WHATEVER YOU DO YOU HAVE TO HELP!!! ZEGRAM'S MISSING!!!"
"What?!?!?!"
We ran back onto the planet and I ran through the trees, calling his name, no one came with me because we had spread out, but I was the one to find him, I saw him talking to someone, but I stayed hidden so I could find out who, and there she was, that girl that had worked for Valckog, he was talking to her with his arms around her waist, I knew he was either trying to get her or to get her to bring him away from us, I walked along the trees, they could've seen me, but I didn't say anything, and I just walked, right on the outside of the forest, finding a thin deep river I sat, obviously sad, I didn't know it at the time, but Zegram had noticed me sit there and came over.
"You want something?!" he asked angrilly.
"No, I did, but I guess you aren't coming back with us, so you go ahead and be one of them again, now that you know you can't bring people back to life, I'd like to see what they can do for you, so go, I won't stop you, if it's what you want I'm ok with it," I replied sady.
"Why? Why'd you say that?"
"Because...I didn't want anyone else to know...not until I did."
"Until you knew what?!"
"That you wanted us to have a relationship, you never did say we were, then I wake up to my father telling me we are?!"
"Oh...that...I'm sorry...I was so afraid you wouldn't wake up, I wanted at least someone to know how I felt, I'm so sorry...I'm not going to them if that's the case, I was so afraid that you didn't..."
"How do you know I still do love you??? I never said that."
"Oh...so you don't then?"
"No...I do... I do very much...but...I don't want everyone else to know just yet...alright? Please? I'm so afraid of this whole thing, seeing you like that with her...it makes me even more scared about you leaving me... even if I told you my heart would never recover...I could never know if you'd still leave me, I'm sorry."
"Mei...I'm the one who should be sorry, I shouldn't've been all over her and I know that, I...I just don't know how to restrain myself sometimes...please Mei, tell me we're still alright!"
I stood and hugged him," We're alright Zegram...I swear... I still love you and only want for you to be happy."
He hugged back, leaning his head on mine, I could feel his tears dropping," I love you too, I know I can be impossible, but please, bear the things I do for a while longer while I re-learn what love is."
"Alright...I think I can do that for a little while, only because I love you, Zegram."
Suddenly there was clapping and I looked up to see Valkog clapping from his hover-car," How touching, I just LOVE a good soap!"
I growled and Zegram looked as well.
"Hiya Valorie!" I called with a smug smile.
He growled and jumped from his car.
"Zegram...we can't fight him alone...we need help!" I whispered to Zegram, knowing something was coming.
"Aww... is his new little princess scared??? Well don't you worry, I don't want you...yet, I've only come to make you an offer I doubt you'll ever refuse!" He laughed and then, HE suddenly appeared his pale skin shone in the morning's light, his gemini mask also glimmering, it was as I'd feared. Seed was back, and he looked stronger then before...
"S-Seed???" I said breathlessly, Zegram and I had let go of eachother which I guess gave them an advantage.
Seed walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist, helping me to hold my own weight, his voice was deeper then I remembered it," Hello my dear, you seem to know me very well, but I'd like to know you better as well," he whispered in my ear and I couldn't say I didn't love it.
I looked at Valkog and saw the professor and remembered what I was doing! This was only a copy of Jaster! I couldn't do this! So I did all I knew how to, I struggled and kicked and screamed for help as he just laughed and licked my neck. I had hoped someone would come to help, but nothing, he was basically going crazy without having my full skin shown to him. I was fortunate, the moment he tried and bit my shirt, Zegram came up and slashed at his neck, which he doged and the sword came very close to me and stopped, but I had been let go. I ran over to Zegram who grabbed me with one arm and held his sword up with the other, Seed got up and I took out my rocket launcher.
"Look Seed! You come near either of us and you die! So get away!!!" I was breathing hard from the energy I had exerted trying to get him off me.
"Ooo, A feisty one I see... it's only makeing me want you more my dear!" Seed laughed.
"I swear, touch her again and I'll personally see that this time you WON'T survive!" Growled Zegram, still holding me.
"You can't kill us! Either of us! If you kill him I kill myself!" I shouted, holding my gun to my own head with a quivering hand.
"NO DON'T!!!" All four of the people there shouted.
"Come on now my dear, you can honestly do something as stupid as that for this little b*****d?!" Seed roared.
I just smirked," You might be a clone of Jaster, but the one thing you will never understand that he has, love makes you do stupid things, this just happens to be the first true love I've ever found, you might promise a nice face, but it won't last, when you get what you want, you'll just thow me aside, and I don't really like that idea.So I like where I am for now, you take a step twoards either of us and I'll kill myself, for the safety of this universe, and my love. You will never prevail against us, we have the true Star King!"
"Mei..." was all that could be heard, my name, hardly above a whisper, but I couldn't recognise the voice, looking behind Valcog and the others, I saw him.
He was tall with a mask, brunette hair, a strong-built body.
"Desert Claw..." I said, causing the others to turn to his kind smile.
"Dear Mei, I'm so glad I could hear that from you, m'lady, thank you for granting my son such kind words, now, to business. Zegram get her back to the ship! I'll handle these bozos!" he jumped infront of us, Zegram replaced his sword on his back and picked me up, running towards the ship. I didn't get to find out if Desert Claw had escaped. When we got back Zegram sat me in my room and I had tears in my eyes, I heard him telling them all what hapened, soon, Tony came in after knocking on the door, he gave me some sweets, ensureing me any woman would've done the same thing and that I was very brave. He stayed with me for the rest of the day while I slept, though when I woke up he told me that Jaster had come in to see me. I tried to get up, only to find that my whole body was harmed in some way, I was either broken or bleeding, Tony helped me back in bed, he went to get the others and it was obvious my life was in danger, which my father wouldn't have, he held me in his lap as Steve did all he could to help me with Miyoko at his side and Zegram at mine. Jaster drove us to the nearest planet to get me a doctor. It was juraika, they rushed me to the village and they had me rest.
"How could I let this happen?!" Zegram growled.
I rested a hand gently on his cheek,"Zegram...please, stay calm, I'll be fine, I swear I won't die on you."
Three days later they found that I had nearly died three times in one night and that I had almost no chance of survival. another three days later a mysterious medicine was found with a note, in three weeks from when I had come to Juraika, I was healed.
"It's an absolute Miracle!" Lilika exclaimed looking at the markings on my body.
"What are those?!" Dorgengoa asked in fear.
"They look like the symbols of the Star King, but a little different..." Jaster commented.
I looked at the symbols and my now glowing blue hair," Whoa...but...the color of the Star King is Red...I'm blue...how?"
"The Medicine." stated Steve," I did an analasis, it's made from Jaster's DNA and many herbs."
"Desert Claw? Or Seed?" I whispered to myself, being suddenly deep in thought.
Zegram looked at me, obviously knowing what I thought. We all went back to the ship.
"...I want to go home..."I said after a long silence.
"WHAT?!" everyone started to ask questions.
"It's dangerous to keep me in the Wilherser system...Valkog wants me for some reason, now he'll want me even more with this new power...I have to go...to keep all of you safe."
"And you don't think he'll follow you and put all of earth in danger?" asked my father.
"Well yes, but at least it won't be you, it's either that or you kill me, your choice."
"What?! NO! You'll be safer with us!"
"I agree little sister. You should stay with us, if this power IS what we all think it is, then you need to stay and learn how to use it." Kisala pointed out, putting a hand on my shoulder.
The next think I knew I was crying, Kisala hugged me tight, telling me it was ok,everyone assured me they'd help me and protect me, I didn't even know how to thank them at the moment. That night I hardly slept, the cat curled up next to me. The second I woke up I went into my father's room and asked him about the necklace.
"It was a gift from your mother, she gave it to you the day before she died. The reason I didn't want them to send it with you was because I hadn't wanted you to wonder, it was my request you be sent to Earth, without the necklace so you wouldn't know, but you found that game about us, and then, now, you met the crew and Jaster told you about me. You really are an extraorinary young girl, I never had such hopes for such an amazeing daughter." he said with a smile on his face.
"Papa, why did you leave?"
"I thought I hadn't been a very good father with Kisala...so I figured I would do an even worse job with you...I wanted you to have the best life you could have, which I didn't think was with us. And I knew the others would never let me get rid of you if I'd still been here, I knew Jaster would follow my last wishes no matter what."
"Papa, I wanted to stay, I know I did. For weeks I missed you, I didn't have a clue, I always knew I wasn't with my real parents, deep down I know I did. I knew I had false memories, I thought they were this, I thought my dreams all those years ago were fake, just like I thought these were."
"My little Mei, you seem to know so much, you know exactly what we did, how we did it. You exageraed it a bit, but you knew, you always knew. Up untill Mother, you knew us, exactly, you even knew Seed. You knewDesert Claw was Jaster's father, you knew about Zegram and Jane, you knew Simon was Cho, you knew about Tony, Miyoko and Chie, you knew Kisala was a queen. You knew it all."
"Yea but, because I had played the game. I knew nothing before that."
We talked for a while before Zegram came in.
"Oh, I'm sorry am I interupting something?" he asked as he walked into the room.
"No, we were just talking about my life on Earth." I replied.
"Ah, I see. Well Jaster went to wake you up and you weren't in your room so he got worried, I figured you'd be here."
"Oh, ok. Well I'm here talking. Nothing to worry about. Me and Papa were just finishing up."
"So how're you Zegram?" my father asked.
"I'm fine thanks. And you? How've you been?"
"Great, never better now that Mei's back."
"That's wonderful."
"It's good to be back." I added.
"Well that's good, I hope you'll be staying then." they both replied together and then glared at eachother.
I giggled," You see, this is why I love you both."
Both of them looked at me," Wait, do you mean that?!"
I noded and both of them ran out of the room and started shouting that me and Zegram were a couple now. I laughed and went out after them, everyone else started to congradulate me, then I asked to go home, anywhere that was home, I asked my father of course.
"Anywhere you want to be home, we'll go there." he answered.
"Juraika, Rosa or Marriglen. Any of the three would be good."
"Why there?"
"Well, Juraika because it's not as busy and it's quiet, Rosa to be with Jaster and because it reminds me of my home on Earth, and Marriglen to be with Kisala and because it's pretty there and I wouldn't mind raising children there if I ever have them."
"Oh, I see. You really thought this through didn't you?"
"I certainly did. I thought who I'd wanna be with, where I'd wanna visit first, and where I wanted to settle down and have a family."
"Wow, so you thought Zegram, Vedan, and Juraika?"
"No, I thought Zegram or Steve, Vedan or Zerard, and Juraika, Rosa, or Marriglen.
"Wha???"
"I liked Zegram because #1 he was cute and #2 he was mysterious. I liked Steve because #1 he was the nicest one of you, #2 he was misunderstood like me and #3 he was the only sane one here. I wanted to see Vedan first because I wanted to kill the kid and I wanted to see Zerard first because I wanted to meet Dr. Poccachio and see the factory. and I just told you the reason for the other places."
"You REALLY thought this through didn't you?!" asked Jaster.
"Yea I did. While I was playing the game that's what I wanted to think of, How I'd live my life if I was on the Dorgenark with all of you. I also thought what would happen if I had traveled with you guys, this isn't really what I'd thought... but hey it's close enough. Oh, and one quick comment, did anyone notice that... if the Ghost Ship appears only every fourty years, and Dorgengoa's seen it twice, that makes him 80, and since he was about 20 when he saw it the first time, that would've made him almost 100, and since it's been 20 years since then almost... that'd make him around...from 130-150 years old."
They all looked at me and then thought for a moment, then at Dorgengoa.
"Wow that's right..." said Jaster.
"So what if I am?!"my father said defensively.
"Nothing," I replied," just thought I'd say it because I put alot of thought into that."
"Oh, well you really ARE smart...you figured that out on your own..."
"Yup! I'm really proud of myself for figureing that out, and it's to 150 for the years in between you seeing the Ghost ship the second time and my birth."
"She really is smart and kind." Steve comented.
I blushed, my friends had all gone home, it was only me and my crew now. In moments we were back on Rosa, Kisala had decided to make a new ruler of her planet and live with Jaster, all of the crew lived with us, we all built a home together, it was tall and built well. We worked great together and after it was done, I was twenty-one, it didn't even take that long to build! I felt really happy with these guys!
"Wow, you really HAVE grown up Mei!" Tony exclaimed, looking at my stomache.
"Already haveing your first baby?! Oh my, you certainly have been moveing along quickly!" Steve yellped.
"I'm going to be a grandfather!!!" my father cried.
"Yea...who knew I'd ever really be a dad?" Zegram smiled as he kissed me.
"I can't wait...I'm so happy I think I could cry! Never once did I ever think I'd be haveing a baby, or that I'd be haveing one on Rosa!" I replied.
"Huh? Not haveing a baby?!" Kisala noted.
"I thought I wouldn't've done anything bad by now...or that I would've been married so soon. What I thought was gonna happen was that I would get married when I was 21 and then get my tubes tied so I wouldn't have a baby." I explained.
We all talked about it for the rest of the night. The next morning it all started again, another large dragon attacked the city, I looked up at it and froze.
