Just a little something I thought I would rant about...
Something I didn't know about PETA until just recently.
I never really liked them to begin with, but this just flat pisses me off.
PETA Kills AnimalsPETA takes in animals, much like organizations like the ASPCA do.
You would think that's good, right? Wrong!
Because they kill most of the animals that are surrendered to them,
without so much as giving them a chance for a new home.
Last number was at about 90 percent of their animals euthanized.
One of their lame-a** excuses for this is that the animals they seized were so "broken" that they couldn't be saved.
Bull s**t. There's no way they had that many animals that were so far beyond saving that they could only put them down.
You want to see a "broken" animal, look at some of the animals the ASPCA rescues. Flip on Animal Planet one day and catch an episode of Animal Cops or Animal Precinct, you'll see plenty of "broken animals". And yet they manage to save OVER HALF of these animals, and find them good homes, on a much smaller budget than PETA's.
And it turns out that most of the animals PETA put down weren't nearly as "broken" as they claimed. Many were perfectly fine, in fact, and could have easily been put into good homes.
One of the other excuses that was apparently brought up when they went to court for this, was that the animals were "PETA's property". Their
property... now doesn't that just sound a little odd, coming from an organization that's all about liberation of animals.
This is infuriating, because the animals surrendered to PETA were from owners who were told their animals would be well taken care of, and placed in loving homes, only to have many of their animals put down and stuffed in a giant freezer.
And most of their funding comes from pet owners who believe they are helping PETA help animals. As it turns out, they're only helping PETA kill them.
All because PETA cares more about their own extremist "liberate animals and turn the whole world vegan" bullcrap, than the actual welfare of animals.
My question is, how does PETA get away with half the crap they do? It's almost scary that they even can.
Animal cruelty, destruction of property, arson... PETA's list of crimes goes on.
And they get away with all of it.
I'm just sort of hoping that with this website out and about,
maybe enough people will get the memo, and PETA will eventually lose it's funding. D:
