Well, here we go again! And I thought only three years since Katrina was too soon. Now they have shifted the projected path of Ike from going up Florida to straight at us again! And Gustav came straight up and then turned to the West, but Ike will be coming at an angle all the way across the Gulf, pushing a surge that will push up into the Lake Pontchartrain and flood the West Bank and North Shore, like they thought would happen with Gustav, only he went just enough West to spare us.
FEMA is saying that people need to accept personal responsibility. All because some people had to take advantage another time! How are the little people that work for a living supposed to be able to afford to evacuate with only two weeks in between, especially since we're missing work!? We spent $165 in gas alone to run to Alabama for Gustav.
Well, I'm off to worry and watch the Gulf, and outside and pick up all the mess from Gustav to try to take my mind off of the possibilty of Ike; not to mention the wires and relays burning up to our central air conditioner; hard to ignore 90 degree heat stressed
PS~ One good thing: I won't be having to travel with my ex? sister-in-law again, if we have to run...
