Well, entry two. I figured I might as well get gold out of my annoyance rather than just updating the old one and getting nothing.
So here it is: While we were at Kroger this morning, we got into the self-checkout lines because the other ones had long lines, and these were empty. We're getting along fine, then there's no more room on the weight-table at the end where you put all your groceries in bags. Mom goes to move the groceries there out of the way and into the cart (like we've always done and never had a problem), but the woman who's acting cashier for the 4 empty self checkouts says, "Ma'am, you can't do that, you have to put them back until you're done". Mom asks, "How do I fit it all?" because it's obvious that we still have a lot of items to put up there... And the woman ignores her, just walking away from her station. I think she was taking "Self" checkout a bit too seriously. Isn't helping customers at her checkout line (which only had ONE customer) her JOB? Isn't it what she gets PAID for? If you ask it, it shouldn't have been "You can't do that" and walking off, but should have been, "Here let me help you since I'm not doing anything else". I didn't even see her bagging groceries in other lines, even though I may have just missed her in my annoyance. Her air though seemed to give me the feeling like she was going on a break and we could deal with it ourselves. If we'd had further problems, I'm sure she would've been snarky about it.
Then in the parking lot I had troubles... The lot is on a sort of slant, so you have to hold onto your cart or it'll roll away. So I have my foot stuck between the bottom parts of the cart to hold it still (it hurts my ankle), and I'm trying to put all of the groceries into the car with my limited reach even more limited because I can't climb in halfway to stick something inside and hold the cart. Once I finally managed to get all the groceries in, I backed my shoulder into the passenger side mirror, pretty much full force-- it didn't feel good. After that, trying to put the buggy up, the coral was nearly full and I had to back the cart up-- and ran over my toe. I was wearing flip-flops. *sigh* This morning just isn't my morning.
...One good thing did come of it all, though. *small sip* I got the milk I've been wanting.
