A hero’s cry is not a sigh Not a lowly yelp or scream Yet when he cries out with a magnificent shout, He’s as powerful as he seems
Our heroes cry out often When battling for our sake Yet they stand tall and never stall And the best is what they make
They continue on forever Through sand and rain As the eagle stands proud amidst evil’s shroud As he watches them take the pain
With a tear in his eye As the war continues on He can still grin as they never give in Even on death’s front lawn
They will never stop Even when engulfed by fear Because the flag still stands in America’s hands The nation they hold dear
And when they die They fought for what was right And the life they gave also did save And shed a glorious light
Yet when they’re gone They watch over us still Until their vision of America’s provision Becomes God’s will
A Hero’s cry is one of hope That will stay with us always And even when they’re gone they helped us to go on Past the end of our days
Our country shall go on Because of what they do Our armed forces whose work enforces Peace, justice, and equality too
