~How you met~
You were sitting on the bench, watching your classmates play on the playground. You noticed a boy with red hair, sitting on a swing all by himself. You recognized him because he always sat there. You thought he looked interesting so you walked over to him and sat down on the swing next to him.
He looked startled when you sat down next to him."Aren't you afraid of me?"he asked you curiously. You almost laughed but managed to hide it, "No,should I be?"you replied "But.......don't you know who I am?"he asked you again "Yeah, a weird kid who asks a lot of questions and doesn't have any friends." you told him. He scowled at you and said "I don’t see you with any friends!"You started to push yourself back and forth on the swing, "That's because I don't like making friends." you told him "You might end up being betrayed by the ones you trust. So I don't trust anyone."The boy smiled shyly then he said "I'm Gaara, So.....do you trust me enough to tell me your name?"You laughed and told him your name. Then, the two of you just there on the swings and talked about things.
You found out that Gaara had a monster inside of him.You felt sorry for him. You also thought that other people were s**t. They had never seen the real Gaara instead they chose to see the monster. You two became good friends. Gaara became one of the few people that you could actually trust. You also met his siblings, Temari and Kankuro, you became good friends with them, too.
~How you got together~
After a few years, you became a ninja along with Gaara, Temari and Kankuro. You stayed friends with them,too! One day, you had a ninja mission, but you had to go to Konoha to do it. You said goodbye to Gaara and the others and promised to be back as soon as possible.
At Konoha, you formed an instant bond of friendship with Shikamaru,the lazy but extremely smart chuunin ninja. You felt that he was misunderstood too because everyone just saw him as a lazy guy but not a smart ninja. You spent most of your time with Shikamaru when you were in Konoha. After you finished your mission, you had to go back to the sand village. You felt sad because you had to leave Shikamaru but you also felt happy because you could see Gaara again.
Shikamaru escorted you back to the sand village. When you got back, you said your goodbyes and promised to stay in touch(even though Shikamaru said it was troublesome).When Shikamaru started to leave, a cloud of sand floated towards him and engulfed him!
Without turning around, you knew it had to be him. 'Gaara' you thought. You spun around and sure enough ,it was Gaara. He had his hand held out and was prepared to clench it closed. You knew that move, you had seen it before. It was one of Gaara's favourites. 'The sand coffin' was a deadly attack and it caused instant death by crushing its victim to death. You had seen it before and you did not want to see it again.
"Gaara!!!Stop!!"you heard yourself yell ,then you heard a slap. In your desperation to save Shikamaru, you had slapped Gaara clear across his face. He looked at you shocked. You looked at your hand, even, you, yourself couldn't believe what you had just done that to Gaara, your best friend. You opened your mouth,but then you heard a thud from behind you. The sand had released Shikamaru. You quickly ran to his aid, checking to see if he was hurt. Gaara turned around and walked back to the village, leaving you and Shikamaru alone.
"Shikamaru! Are you okay?"you said .Shikamaru groaned and got up."Shikamaru!!!" you exclaimed as relief flooded through your face."Man, I was having a nice nap. Why'd you wake me up?"he said as he scratched his head."Nap,my a**!!I was so scared!"you said angrily. Shikamaru yawned and said "whatever.Look,I've got to get back to Konoha or else the troublesome Hokage will be mad at me."you nodded and helped him stand up.You two said goodbye again, then you headed towards the village to find Gaara.
You searched until nightfall but you still didn't find Gaara. You leaned against a building to catch your breath, then suddenly you noticed a few grains of sand on the ground,a few more grains fell at your feet. You knew it had to be Gaara, who else? You leaped onto the rooftop and,sure enough, he was there looking at the moon. You tried to go sit near him, but Gaara dragged you next to him with his sand. You took his hand, it was ice cold.
"Gaara?"you whispered, "I was jealous you know." he didn't turn to look at you even when he was speaking.His eyes were still looking at the moon."I just saw you with him and you looked so happy. I just suddenly felt anger and hate inside of me."You looked at him wanting him to continue, but he looked like he didn't want to continue.He slipped his hand out of yours and put it on his knee.
He waited a few moments, and then he continued "When I'm with you,I feel....I feel something......in my heart.It makes me feel happy and warm inside."you said blushing,you put your head on his shoulder and reached out to take his hand again,but before you could take it it,Gaara's own hand shot out and intwined his fingers with yours,at the same time gripping it tightly.
Gaara turned his head to look at you and you turned your head at a slight angle so you could face him."So......"Gaara whispered "What do people do.....when they're in love?"you blushed scarlet,crimson,red,I don't care what you call it,anyway you blushed red,then you said"Well,I guess.....they kiss?"Gaara looked at you with his blue eyes.Other people had only seen the monster behind those eyes, but you could see more than that.You could see past the monster and into the real Gaara. You could see.....love.
Gaara blushed slightly and asked "How do people.......kiss?"You blushed again and replied,"I could....show you. If you trust me."Gaara nodded, then you took a deep breath and held Gaara's chin, tilting him towards your lips. Both of your lips collided shortly.
At first, Gaara didn't respond, he seemed shocked,even.But then,he started to get the hang of it and kissed you back. After a while, you two stopped for breath,"__________?"Gaara said breathlessly"I think......I think,I love you. you blushed and smiled up at him,"I love you, too, Gaara."Then, you two embraced again, the moon luminous on your faces.
After that night,you two became the sweetest and the most kick-a** couple ever!
