Did I ever mention how much I hate writing essays? D:
I have three of them coming up, in a row.
An essay on Hamlet, a big honking research paper on Hamlet OR Wuthering Heights,
and a scholarship essay on a heroic figure in history that I find inspiring.
The first two are for English,
the last one is to enter a scholarship contest,
so my dad will LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE.
But depending on how the other two go, I may not write the third.
Unless I can get a good start on it this weekend, which I doubt.
I have a project due in Algebra next week.
On matrices. I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do...

The scholarship essay brings up a question for me.
I'm not planning on going to college until some time in 2009. I'm taking a year off.
I signed up for a bunch of scholarships now, and won some,
would they hold that money for me until I go to college, THE NEXT YEAR?
Somehow, I doubt it.
You probably have to be going to college ASAP.
I don't know how these things work, and I'm worrying about that now.
Especially since my dad won't stop making me sign up for them.
(He's also trying to make me apply for jobs now,
which I would be happy to do...
if he or my mom would take me to get some applications!
Despite his belief, not every business has their applications online...).
He's afraid that they won't be there when I do plan to go to college.
Well, actually, most of the good scholarships I find,
you have to be in college to apply for them.
And yes, I'm planning on going to a pretty expensive college,
but I'm going somewhere else first, and then transferring.
The first school I'll be going to will be much cheaper.
Since I'll be working for a year first, I should have enough money to get started by then,
and then I can start going for those in-college scholarships.
At least, that's what I'm hoping.
I guess the good thing about the essay contest I found,
is that it's a straight cash prize. As in that money is yours, end of story. =]
So hopefully I'll have time in between all these other big assignments,
to write them a decent essay.
