That's what I was thinking. In fact, that's what I was talking about. I was thinking, since you're so bent on have the little mermaid first and up front, the things that'd happen then would be what she saw. She's magical, because she's a mermaid, and can also see in Time, which is why she can see all those stories. We'd finish the story of the LM in the end, because all the other stories happen in the middle of the LM. We'll have her narrating the first bits of the first story or so, and then a new story would take over. Unless you want to write the LM first, then go to have What the Little Mermaid Saw on Land, and then blah-de-blah, finishing that story (maybe the butterfly's second?) and then go to something like What the Daisy Saw: An Alternate Future for the Butterfly (or something like that) and we'd stick Thumbelisa in, and maybe she'll have fairy kids, and maybe a princess/fairy princess/fairy godmother/Little Match Girl's Grandmother who was of slight fairy blood or something, and it would be like What Happened to Thumbelisa's Children, and when the LMG went to heaven, she became an angel, and then maybe one of the LMG's mom's other daughters were sorta nice and fell in love with the boy in The Angel, who dutifully watered that plant by the window, and then he died and she became heartbroken, and that would be called something like What Happened to the Little Match Girl's Sisters, and she'd go off on an adventure or something and it'd be a new fairy tale, or something. Maybe change the setting of the little match girl to Japan, and the sister left over would be part of an entourage that delivered the machinery-Nightingale. Things like that. I think the first one is good, because when I tried explaining the second idea, (up there) it turned into the first idea again and I had to rewrite it.
