My friend, SmurfFairy has told me the dissappointing news that "At World's End" shall be the final Pirate movie. And as much as I hate to see a good thing end, I suppose it is best to quit while you're ahead. Even as a huge Johnny Depp and Pirate fan, I admit that the third did not surpass the second. Having seen all three in the theather, the excitement of the second, with it's references to the first, call back characters and memorable phrases, and unforgettable cliff-hanger ending was unbeatable in creating an exciting movie-going experience!

Speaking of trilogies, I stayed up until 3am last night/this morning finishing the final book in R.A.Salvatore's Demon Trilogy. Even though I did not want it to end, the situation in which the heroes find themselves begged to have me read until the conclusion. No happy ending here, just a little good to go with the bad, painfully resembling real life. However, after reading all three books, I anticipated a sense of morning akin to the departure of a friend, but was surprised to discover at the end of the third, a prologue of the first book in a second trilogy! So, it doesn't have to end, but now I am faced with the decision continuing the journey with the few surviving characters or start anew. What ever the outcome, it is nice to have the choice even available.
