Revenge and Just Desserts (Part 4)-An EQ fanfic
Back at the holt, everyone was up and active. There was laughter and merrymaking going on through the treetops and on the ground. Only one sat quietly, still beyond still, waiting for some sort of ending. None of the other elves seemed to notice their wolves strange behavior. Many were pacing or keep staring off into the deep part of the forest. Some even lay waiting at where the forest met the holt clearing.

Deception watched as the night fliers began to arrive, intrigued by the stilling of the woods and drawn in by the many bugs that had been captured by the fire's light. Liquid gold eyes took a red tint from the human's flames, waiting now for Xaryan's call. She had been sent ahead to watch...making sure that these pathetic roundears did not leave nor draw others to their group. Suddenly, the call went out. Mentally and outloud, a lone howl could be heard echoing throughout the woods.

Furry ears now pricked up, and many wolves simply got up and left. Elves that had been resting or enjoying their bond's companionship, were simply dropped or gone unnoticed. Maker stared at her beast of a wolf, Trouble, fearing that he had foam-mouth. He had a glazed look in his eyes; the mountion of a wolf stood up and just walked away into the darker part of the forest. Then she turned and watched as several others followed in his wake.
"What's wrong?" A stray voice of the tribe called out.
"Perhaps it is time for their council," Maker jested, though still worried.
Leaf sat high in one of the trees, knees drawn to her chest. She was scared inside, but even more worried about what the others would say if she told the truth. Deep down, she knew that her lover's revenge had begun and her stomach began to turn.
Wildberry felt an unusual tugging, an unseen calling to the creatures of the woods surround Sun-Goes-Down. She recognized this tug because she had often used it herself; her talent was minor compared to this one who used it. Only one elf had the strength to send out such a demand. Jumping to her feet, she ran to alert her chieftess...she ran to find Tigerstar.
