I hate war.
I was still young, only 19, when I first met him.
He was awesome.
He came to our village with his battalion.
They were so awesome.
But he…caught my eye.
He used to be a part of the infamous Kimera dojo, but unlike his two famous “siblings” he’s untouched by the dark magick.
‘My home was destroyed so I joined the Vanguard to reconcile my lost family.’ He told me.
I still remember when he returned from the battle.
The others weren’t with him.
‘I’m the only one…again…’ he said
I could see he wanted to cry but he didn’t.
Code of the Warrior.
His mighty sword full of blood.
I wanted to console him so bad, but I didn’t.
*Ground shakes*
He turns around.
Soldiers came…
He defended us with all his might.
But my village still burned.
I never saw him again.
But I remember a great light.
So I am searching for the one who might have sent the army.
But first…
I look around a deserted temple.
A Buddha in front of me filled with cobwebs.
I kneel down and bow.
Praying…hoping…that maybe I can relieve some of his pain.
A shadow.
I stand up and turn around.
She wears a royal blue kimono with pure white painted mermaids and lotus flowers on it.
A fan covers half her face, a mermaid among a bunch of pink and white lotus flowers painted on the fan.
She lowers the fan.
Two combs in her hair.
One is a simple lotus comb and the other is a mermaid bathing in foam comb.
“How is he enjoying my magick?” she asks.
She smiles evilly.
“Is he slowly dying each time he uses it?”
She tucks her fan in her white obi.
The obi jime is royal blue.
“What do you mean?”
*Chuckles*
“He came to me asking to avenge his Kimera family. Then he joins the Vanguard. He is reliving his past.”
“You’re cruel!” I shout.
I throw a dagger.
She catches it.
“Cruel?”
“You sent that army!”
Clouded by tears I fall to my knees.
She kneels down in front of me.
I feel her cool skin on my cheek.
“No, child…It was just an unfortunate part of war…”
“Why do you want to kill him?” I ask, tears falling down my face.
She leans close to me.
Her cheek touching mine.
Her breath on my ear.
“That is my price.” She whispers.
My eyes widen.
I feel a cold kiss through my gut.
A sword…
Tears roll down my face.
I fall to my side.
She walks away with my dagger.
The Buddha behind me…
A beautiful sunrise in front of me…
