Cancion de Cielo, please call me Chaci, pranced ahead of her mate, humming along to the tune in her head. Always singing or humming as she moved about, the blonde mare always had a song in her heart. Especially since her love Veluri wandered into her life. He was a bit shy, and a little jumpy at the best of times. Where she was all adventure and outgoing joy, he was reserved and often the voice of reason during one of her many flights of fancy. She drug him out of his shell, he encouraged her to think before she ran headlong into some random activity. She'd probably given the stallion multiple mini heart attacks over their years together, but she knew he'd had more adventures with her than he'd ever had before. He'd grown more confident every day with her, and she couldn't have loved a male more than the one currently inspecting mushrooms at the base of a large oak tree not far behind her.
Didn't they often say that love found you when you least expected it? She'd been the one to approach him, all smiles and completely lost on her way to visit one of her nieces. He'd jumped about a foot in the air when she asked him for directions, and when he'd heard where she wanted to go, he'd panicked all over again. Yeah, her niece was a Kalona, and the daughter of some less than friendly folk, but she wasn't bad! Sure, a little surly and sarcastic, but she was still a wonderful niece. After he'd realized that he wasn't going to convince her not to go, he'd decided to 'escort' her. Ars took great pleasure in terrifying him, asking him was his intentions were with her favorite Auntie. By the end of the visit, he'd seemed to discover Ars's bark was far worse then her bite, but he was so embarrassed he'd fled into the forest once they were on their way back.
So, Chaci took matters into her own hooves. She visited that section of forest for weeks after until she caught sight of him again. She'd cornered him and all but demanded her go with her on a walk in the forest. He'd followed along quietly behind her, listening to her chatter the entire trip. He'd chimed in occasionally, but for the most part he'd seemed to enjoy just following along and listening. That felt like it was just yesterday, when it had been many moons since their initial encounter. Turning to climb down a ledge and peer into a cave, the mare lit up with a grin.
"Oh look Veluri! Crystals!!"
