Woo hoo! Introductions thread.
My real name's Michael. I'm comfortable saying as much because it's one of the most common names out there. Like sand grains on a beach -- but this one's mine. Otherwise, call me Lucky. I'm an 09er myself. Been on and off Gaia for a while, and was primarily active through my teen years. I turned 30 this year. I am indeed male, despite how my avatars look sometimes. I mostly enjoy designing characters from RPs I'm running or playing.
Formerly Canadian, I moved to the US to be with my wife, whom I've been married to for just over a year now. Work is currently on hold while I finish the last hurdle of my immigration process, but assuming nothing else goes sideways, we're hoping to have the final paperwork filed by the end of September.
As for hobbies, my big draw is TTRPGs. I usually disappear on Wednesdays and Saturdays for D&D with my Discord group. Wednesdays I'm a High Elf Wizard in a Skyrim D&D game my DM and I cooked up together; Saturdays I either run Esoteric Enterprises or Pokemon 5e depending on what everyone's feeling. I also do a lot of tabletop RPG rewrites/homebrews in my server. The one RP-related thing I don't do is 1x1s. That's partly a personal comfort thing, and partly a boundary my wife and I have agreed upon.
I maintain a digital archive of media for myself and my innermost circle, and I have an appreciation for the finer points of religion, the occult, and their connections to history. Otherwise, I'm usually off studying some topic that happened to catch my interest or spending an unreasonable amount of time on Daggerfall Unity.
I'm currently working on being more extroverted. I spent a lot of my teens quiet, troubled, and keeping to myself, so learning to actually seek out human connection has been an...
interesting process. But I like people, and I'm getting there.~
