How long must the battle last,
Before the end of blood and blasts?
How long must we in conflict roam
Before we at last return home?
Another brush, another bend,
When will this painful toil end?
Apply a layer, spend more days-
What for, when both will fade away?
I fight for justice and for good
Amid mistreatment's choking hood,
My life is spent to avenge the slain,
But I will die, while evil remains.
Hoist the rocks! Work 'til y'dead!
All this just for coins and bread.
Get to work! Shirk if y'dare!
Alas, this is my whole life's fare.
I spend my days in poverty,
Gold and wealth is all I see;
Friends and joy are gone from me,
For I have nothing but money.
A tort'rous life after the womb,
A sim'lar future 'til the tomb,
Existence is a tiring task;
Until its end, its strife will last.

- I really like this poem, the wording is beautiful, and the imagery is strong. I can't see a single thing that could really be improved on, great work
