-
Deep in the forest I sit in lush green and watch
the golden clouds float past.
I hide in the shadows,
camouflage myself in dirt,
and move like the wind through the trees.
Contented, I rest here and wait for
day to pass, and night to bloom again.
The red sun sets, so passionate, so fickle,
and I watch with an eager heart
as the moon rises and stars wake to the dark.
I fly through the forest on swift feet,
past trees and rocks and deer,
to the edge of the wood,
to the edge of my world,
to a cliff where clear waters
tumble over boulders
and sparkle in the starlight.
