Bulletproof
If I surrendered my heart to you
Would I become bulletproof?
If we spent just one more night
Would we make it worth the time?
Still waiting for the day I wake up
To learn the true meaning of trust.
Trying to escape to a time not frightening.
Being able to leave a ditch with a smile.
Maybe that’s how it should be.
Did I really waste my life away?
Let’s just agree to disagree.
Would I regret what I did?
I just wanted you to be happy.
I’d sell my life just to keep you laughing.
From when we first met
I never felt empty.

- okay, i liked the concept of "giving you my heart will make me bulletproof" but the rest of the poem, except for the two starting lines, is crap. prose is not poetry; feeling isn't good enough for poetry; you need to invest some time in learning to portray your feelings in a concrete manner.
