Utopia Dystopia
In an isolated valley only known by very few outsiders, In an isolated valley only known by very few outsiders.
There lived a peaceful place. There lived a terrible place
Were food was bountiful, Were fear was bountiful,
Her land and people untouched by the sword. Her land and people war ridden.
In this place of fable, In this place of hell,
lived people by the masses. lived people by the masses.
In happiness, never in sad, In terror, never in comfort,
in love and never in hate. in hate and never in love.
Happiness flowed, Hate flowed,
like a bountiful river, never ending. like a bountiful river of blood, never ending.
Hate was an unknown word, Love was an fantasy word,
not inscribed to knowledge. a myth to the world.
Yet all in Utopia, all was not well, Yet all in Dystopia, all was not well,
hiding under it's pretty shell. hiding under it's armored shell.
For all the people thought the same, For all the people lived in fear,
not letting their creative mind wander. never breathing easily.
Why let such a beautiful thing, Why let the people,
go to waste or even be outlawed? you supposedly love and care for, suffer?
Why let individuality, Why let individuality,
go to waste for paradise? go to waste for the whole?
If death must come from individuality, If death must come from peace,
so be it. so be it.
If pain and suffering come from self happiness, If love and happiness come from freedom and revolution,
so be it too. so be it too.
For what is a utopia, For what is a dystopia,
if it is our dystopia? if it is our utopia?
Which is better,
for the world?

Description:
Originally these were two stand alone poems. But, I decided to combine them because with how I wrote it. You can't have one without the other. My message doesn't get across so well if it's just one of the poems. I didn't rhyme with this one. I wanted to be free of a rhyme scheme for this poem, making it's meaning pop out a bit more. With a bit of inspiration from George Orwell's book '1984', here is my poem.
