Sweet Ignorance
Sometimes we forget that we're only human.
Sometimes we forget that we can bleed too.
We cover it up with these promises and lies
Because living in agony is better,
So much better than living alone.
Another day passes us by, leaving us behind.
We're wasting our time trying to make it all right.
Standing in the rain of our nonexistent storm,
We dance and glory in these crimson scars.
What will it take to free ourselves from hypocrisy?
We've been crushed by this sinfully sweet ignorance.
We're drowning in our throes of grief and pain.
We've given up though we have never tried.
We surrendered before we ever fought.
When the night finally comes, we will be found
Holding onto the last shards of daylight.
And when death comes to claim our immortal souls,
We'll lie down and bow before the grave.
Sweet ignorance will go on before us
And take our place within eternity.

- Description: I'm not good with descriptions, so this isn't going to be much at all. Let's see...if I ever get any other poems up here, I'm sure that you will notice that most of them have the word hypocrisy in them somewhere. That's sort of one of my themes I suppose. A lot of the time, though, I just pick an interesting word and base the whole poem off of that. This particular poem though...well, I don't really have anything to say about it...yeah. I suppose that's it.

- Yeah, I like this. I mean, like I said back when you first wrote it, you should try to watch your meter, but your imagery makes up for that, I think. Pretty, pretty.
