“They’ll come in the night” my mother would say
So inside of the basement we lay
All was silent, there wasn’t a sound
We could not risk letting ourselves be found
We can’t let the soldiers know that were here
We’ll be alright, don’t shed a tear
First leather boots, and belt buckles I see
Those menacing eyes, are they scouring for me?
Many gunshots go off in the town
Then something I saw made my heart drown
There was my mother, who was out in the light
Surrounded by soldiers, what terror, what fright!
She caught my eye and mouthed a goodbye
As the evil inside him took aim cry

- Yes this got to me to. The Holocaust was such a trajedy and it's terrible people are saying it never happened. The Germans shouldn't have done that, just because they weren't who they were. Beautiful! 5/5

this really touched me. I love learning about the holocaust. i'm even doing my reasearch paper on it. It's terrible how the Germans acted toward someone because of how they were.
So this poem made me want to cry TT.TT
