• we are peacekeepers
    we fight for the future of our people
    we risk our own futures for our family and friends
    we risk our lives to help women and children who have no rights
    but
    we've been here about 6 years
    we werent suposed to fight we were
    there to free the women and children which others faild to see
    we were there to show them how it should be
    what it could be
    and what it will be
    we gave them hope that one day
    one day they might see a clear blue sky
    without seeing someone cry
    but
    other troops were sent in
    decided he was here
    it turned into a war
    my people my friends have died
    but the worst of all the people we gave hope have died
    why are we in a war we didnt agree on
    people are dying
    we dont get to see our children on x-mass or theyre brithdays
    our every day is bombs going off and screams of agony
    why did we go into this?
    some of us wanted to be heros but most of them are dead
    some of us for family who are always in our heads
    some just young and stupid not realising what they got into
    at the moment war was the last thing on our minds
    acting like life was normal cause it really was
    but
    on that day in the middle of september
    every thing changed
    watching the tv in fear of what might happen
    what if we were attacked
    our loved ones harmed
    bodies unfound
    i sit here thinking this as im on my midnight shift
    what if?
    why?
    how?
    and when will i go home?
