I miss you Daddy...

• Description: I wrote this on the day of the Millitary awards (the Millies). Watching people badly bruised and disabled.. yet they're so happy on that stage in front of the entire nation... and it made me think of the ones that were supposed to be there with them. Think of all their loved ones and how much it must hurt trying to live on when their close ones have been taken away from them. For anyone worried or in their time of need; this poem is for you..

I look up to the skies;
The stars smile back at me.
And when I see this...
I know you are happy.

For it was only almost a year ago,
When you sadly left the safety
of our family home.
Instead you got shot down innocently
But your spirit still roams.

You weren't just a Father,
You were a life-long friend.
You'd always be there for me,
Until the very end.

When I feel uncertain,
About nowadays in life,
I know I can depend on you..
Because you'll always be there; day and night.

I know you are always with me;
When I look up to the skies.
With the stars smiling at me,
And following me like spies

But the smile is not from the stars,
But from your distant, yet always close, face
Reassuring me that I can live on...
Until I join you... I love you daddy.

WOW i am lucky my dad was in the army for about 3 years and he didn't die but is allmost deaf i can't say i know how you feel but i can say that i am sorry for your loss smile
