-
At night I go outside and praise the sky,
Whilst I gaze upon the stars so high.
Mare Imbrium and the Tranquil Sea,
Upon the moon, stare down at me.
A smile graces my lips in delight
Until I see my one regret:
Marring the sky, a jumbo jet
Blinking, moving fast in flight.
A teardrop slowly winds down my cheek,
I laugh and curse the foolish meek.
Sailors and Ancient Greeks all loved the stars,
But city lights might as well be cell bars.
The joys of stargazing, repeated throughout time,
Have been lost to much of mankind.
