"Mom, please don't go yet," Timothy said through clenched teeth. "Not now." He squeezed her shirt listening to the beeps of the hospital room. Then, unexpectantly, his mother replied, "Promise me you'll take care of yourself." All Timothy did was squeeze her shirt tighter as the noise of the life support system went straight. She was gone.
Timothy stand there by his mother's hospital bed, mourning her death. It was just him and his mother in the room. The world spinned around them. Tears rolled off Timothy's cheeks. "Promise me you'll take care of yourself," his mother's voice echoed in his head. "I promise," Timothy whispered as he dug his face into her thigh. "I promise."

A tad cliche for a 'drifting away' scene but still cute.
Also, "Timothy stand there..." should be "Timothy stood there..." - Report As Spam
