Or more specifically, Samurai Warriors 4's version of the Warring States. It first sprang up while listening to music, but it only began to really solidify after I played the game. On an alternate Earth, the planet is made up of 90% water and the nations of the world are a loose connection of islands and small continents. When the leading power, a vast empire, falls prey to its own corruption and the authority structure collapses, the world is thrown into utter chaos, where peace is a distant dream. Amidst the turmoil, Oda Nobunaga, a young admiral of the island nation of Owari, declares his ambition to obtain that distant horizon. What journey awaits him?
