{Chapter 0.9- memories}
jump. Duck. Dodge right. Dodge left. Run faster… That was all I could think as bullets raced toward me. One hit me in the arm, then the leg. I tumbled over. Fortunately, they had stopped chasing me. “Heh. I showed them!” I said. I quickly realized that my artery was hit, and I was going to bleed to death. I noticed a yellow light near the ground. I pulled myself toward the object. When I picked it up, I noticed it was a yellow stone shining like the sun…
{Chapter 1- Aireon}
That’s all I can remember, along with my name. My name is Aireon; I don’t know who I was, or how I got in this mess. Everything seems… taller, and in general, Bigger. I wasn’t in pain anymore. I tried to walk, but I was clumsy on my feet. I noted a nearby stream. I managed to stumble over. The water was crystal clear. I saw my refection and staggered back, with a loud “rrraackk! Scarrac!” I was a hawk. The only part about my appearance that was odd (other than my stupid position) was that my wing’s feathers tips were bright green, along with the down feathers on my chest. Though most people would be traumatized by these events, I’m not most people. I couldn’t remember much anyway, so I really had nothing to stress over. No family to worry about. (I think) I’m pretty sure I can survive this… I’m free as a bird! (Man, can I make bad jokes!) After several failed attempts, I managed to fly. Flying is WONDERFUL! As I glided around, I flew into a column of warm air, propelling me upward. As I was flying, I noticed an exceptionally large, tree, completely devoid of leaves. Hmm… I thought. Why didn’t I notice that before? I was curious, but it seemed as if my eyes just wanted to look anywhere else. After a day of flying, I found a good tree and fell asleep.
*P1*
-Meanwhile somewhere seemingly unrelated to where we were previously-
“I can’t shake em!”
The boy was caught racing on the streets, and decided that it would be a good idea to run from the cops on his motorcycle. He made a hasty decision, and swerved into the nearby woods.
-Back to where we were-
*screee!!! Crash!*
I awoke startled as a motorcycle crashed into the tree next to mine. The rider was knocked unconscious, bleeding terribly. I flew down, wishing there was something I could do. There was this nagging feeling at the back of my head, telling me to laugh and leave him. Though this became more and more tempting, I truly felt sorry for him. I ran my wing over his wounds in pity. Immediately, my wing started glowing, and the wounds on his chest stitched themselves up, as it they were never there. I tried this with all of his other wounds, and it worked every time. Afterwards, I felt exhausted, and flew up to my tree. I watched him from there, and he awoke quickly. As he got up, I saw the light from my memories again. Confused and dazed, he stood up. He turned to the light out of curiosity, and began to reach for it. I freaked out, not knowing what would happen if he touched it, and I quickly flew down and flapped my wings in his face, trying to keep him from the light. “Stupid bird!” he exclaimed, as he slammed me to the ground.
I woke up on the ground. There was no sign of the crash. Hmm… must have been a dream. I said to myself. I must have fallen out the tree. I tried to fly, but I couldn’t. My wing seemed to be broken. I attempted to put forth a sigh, but it wasn’t what I expected, after all, I am a hawk.
